Betfair Tennis Trading Tips: ATP WTA Sunday 29th March

All times are UK/Irish and are subject to change, and all times are in 24hr format e.g., 01.00 = 1am and 16:00 = 4pm:

MIAMI OPEN:

MEN:

1. 16:00 – Anderson v Mayer

Mayer leads 2-1 in head to head stats, and has really stepped up his game in the past couple of years. Since he knocked out Nieminen in 2 sets in the previous match, I feel it’s definitely worth considering laying Anderson.

—> Lay Anderson @1.58, back @1.9

2. 17:45 – Sock v Thiem

Sock has looked good recently but Thiem has been far more impressive beating Lopez in his previous match. I think Thiem can break him early so suggesting to lay him.

—> Lay Sock @1.6, back @2.1

3. 21:00 – Berdych v Tomic —> HOT TIP

In his last 15 matches, Tomas Berdych has lost 4 matches. They were against Federer, Djokovic, Wawrinka and Murray. Basically, the Czech is not losing to any weaker opponents at all.

Have to go for Berdych here as I think odds of 1.28 does have value!

WOMEN:

4. 19:00 – Maria v Bencic

Maria has really been exceptional in this tournament coming through as a qualifier and knocking out Vinci and Bouchard. However, I do feel Bencic is the right player to back here due to her recent form at Indian Wells.

—> Back Bencic @1.42, lay @1.2

5. 19:30 – Errani v Muguruza —> HOT TIP

Mugu is simply one of the most aggressive young talent in WTA today. Errani has never had a decent serve so I must opt for Mugu to break the serves first.

—> Back Mugu @1.39, lay @1.16

6. 21:00 – Larsson v Stephens

Larsson has a 2-0 head to head lead against the American Stephens. However, current form indicates that Stephens may very well win this easy enough as she knocked out Wickmayer and compatriot Madison Keys rather comfortably.

The odds are possibly right here after all..

7. 00:30 – Lisicki v Ivanovic

Ivanovic leads 4-1 head to head, taking 3 of the last matches played on hard courts.
As well as Lisicki has played at Indian Wells, I feel Ana Ivanovic is one tough player to beat on hard courts. I am going to go with her who is a rather big favourite here..

Some Terms Explained:

Back: Normal Stakes – use 10% of bank.
Back Heavy(BH) – use up to 30% of bank. Used at members discretion. Delay and Trade.
Lay: Normal stakes – use 10% of bank.
Lay Heavy(LH) – use up to 30% of bank. Used at members discretion. Delay and Trade.
Likely 3 Setter – consider laying the winner of the first set.
Hot Tip – I have more confidence in these tips. However, use normal stake sizes.

Tips are deemed unsuccessful at 40% loss of stake.

All odds shown with the tips are correct at time of publishing. Odds are often given several hours ahead of the event. If odds have changed, adjust your back/lay stake accordingly e.g. if I tip ‘Back at 1.5, Lay at 1.25’ – and back odds move to 1.55, adjust your lay odds to 1.3 – there are still 25 ticks between the back and lay odds.

Delay and Trade!! It’s OK to place your trades before the match starts, but in my opinion, waiting 2/3 games before placing your trades is the safest way to trade. This is advised in many of the articles below. To delay and trade will give you a good feel for the match. Delay and Trade is a MUST if you are Backing Heavy. Delaying is advised mostly for the women’s game, as early breaks of serve are more likely.  Please read the relevant article below.

Help and Advice: Tennis Trading Tip – Successful or not?

Some folks have asked why I call the tips ‘Betfair Tennis Trading Tips’ and have asked if the tips can be used on other betting exchanges. I use Betfair for all my trading because Betfair has the best liquidity. All of my prices are taken from Betfair.
Betfair Tennis Trading gives you the best opportunities to make profits. You can use the trading tips on other exchanges – there may be small price differences – but these shouldn’t matter. If you decide to use a site other that Betfair for trading, make sure that the liquidity is there.
