All times are UK/Irish and are subject to change, and all times are in 24hr format e.g., 01.00 = 1am and 16:00 = 4pm:

PLEASE NOTE, IF THERE ARE LIQUIDITY ISSUES, ALWAYS KEEP THE STAKES LOW

WTA BIRMINGHAM:

1. 11:00 – Jankovic v Smitkova

Janko beat Smitkova at Hertogenbosch, Netherlands last week in 2 sets. However, Smitkova was way ahead in the first set which she ended up losing 7-5. I am suggesting to lay Janko here as this could be an even closer match to call.

—> Lay Jankovic @1.45, back @1.85

2. 12:30 – Watson v Krunic –> HOT TIP

Heather Watson has a decent chance in Wimbledon this year, she’s had one of her best seasons so far. This being the first tournament at home, I am confident of her producing the goods in front of her fans.

—> Back Watson @1.41, lay @1.18

3. 14:00 – Halep v Broady

I realise Halep is a huge favourite and rightly so due to her overall strengths in the game and experience. However, Naomi Broady played an exceptional match against Tomljanovic beating her in 2 sets with some spectacular serving in the previous match.

With this in mind, I am going to suggest laying Halep today as there is a small possibility of an upset here..

—> Lay Halep @1.1, back @1.5

ATP LONDON:

4. 13:00 – Troicki v Mathieu

I think, by form, Troicki is the right trade here as he played some brilliant Tennis in Stuttgart only to lose to Nadal in the final where he did have chances.

—> Back Troicki @1.45, lay @1.2

5. 18:15 – Cilic v Mannarino

While Cilic should be the favourite here, truth is that he doesn’t like playing against left handers much. With Mischa Zverev already testing him at Stuttgart, a very decent grass courter like Mannarino is likely to do the same.

Suggesting to lay the Croatian here..

—> Lay Cilic @1.36, back @1.75

ATP HALLE:

6. 14:30 – Cuevas v Janowicz

Jano played pretty well at Stuttgart in his first match on grass against Dustin Brown. He then lost to home favourite Kohlschreiber. Today, he faces a talented Cuevas who is known more for his clay court magic. I am suggesting to stick to Jano here..

—> Back Jano @1.43, lay @1.2

7. 16:15 – Robredo v Berankis

This could really be a tough one for Robredo as Berankis is a very tough Grass court player and constantly improving. The Spaniard however, hasn’t been that consistent this year so laying him is the right strategy here I feel..

—> Lay Robredo @1.6, back @2.3

Good luck!

Some Terms Explained:

Back: Normal Stakes – use 10% of bank.
Back Heavy(BH) – use up to 30% of bank. Used at members discretion. Delay and Trade.
Lay: Normal stakes – use 10% of bank.
Lay Heavy(LH) – use up to 30% of bank. Used at members discretion. Delay and Trade.
Likely 3 Setter – consider laying the winner of the first set.
Hot Tip – I have more confidence in these tips. However, use normal stake sizes.

Tips are deemed unsuccessful at 40% loss of stake.

All odds shown with the tips are correct at time of publishing. Odds are often given several hours ahead of the event. If odds have changed, adjust your back/lay stake accordingly e.g. if I tip ‘Back at 1.5, Lay at 1.25’ – and back odds move to 1.55, adjust your lay odds to 1.3 – there are still 25 ticks between the back and lay odds.

Delay and Trade!! It’s OK to place your trades before the match starts, but in my opinion, waiting 2/3 games before placing your trades is the safest way to trade. This is advised in many of the articles below. To delay and trade will give you a good feel for the match. Delay and Trade is a MUST if you are Backing Heavy. Delaying is advised mostly for the women’s game, as early breaks of serve are more likely.  Please read the relevant article below.
