Betfair Tennis Trading Tips ATP WTA: Wednesday 20th May

These Trading Tips are published when all have been played – in order to get Today’s Tips, join by clicking here and I’ll mail them to you!!

All times are UK/Irish and are subject to change, and all times are in 24hr format e.g., 01.00 = 1am and 16:00 = 4pm:

PLEASE NOTE, IF THERE ARE LIQUIDITY ISSUES, ALWAYS KEEP THE STAKES LOW

ATP GENEVA:

1. 16:15 – Ramos v Becker —> HOT TIP

Ramos has won 4 of his previous 5 matches that include wins over Cuevas and Dodig. On the contrary, Becker has lost his 4 previous matches.

This could be a straightforward win for the Spaniard Ramos, who has played some good tennis on Clay this year.

—> Back Ramos @1.22, lay @1.07

WTA STRASBOURG:

2. 11:30 – Cornet v Vesnina

Cornet hasn’t looked her best throughout the season while Vesnina looks like peaking right in time for the French Open as she had good wins against Schmiedlova and Goerges at Rome. This could turn out to be a tough affair for the home favourite Cornet..

—> Lay Cornet @1.56, back @2.1

3. 13:00 – Mladenovic v Riske

The only head to head between these two was on Clay at last year’s French Open which Mladenovic won in 3 sets. Also her current form is much better as she has won 3 of her 5 previous matches with both her 2 losses coming in 3 sets.

She is the right player to back today..

—> Back Mladenovic @1.6, lay @1.2

WTA NURNBERG:

4. 16:30 – Rodina v Witthoeft

After consecutive losses to Garcia at Stuttgart and T.Maria in Morocco, Carina Witthoeft opted for the ITF Cagnes-Sur-Mer Clay tourney which she ended up winning beating players like Bertens and T.Maria on the way. Her first match here at Nurnberg was a tough win against the very talented Van Uytvanck.

Considering her form and that she’s also the home favourite, I prefer backing her today against the Russian Rodina.

—> Back Witthoeft @1.6, lay @1.25

ATP NICE:

5. 14:00 – Dolgopolov v Gulbis —> HOT TIP

Amazing that Gulbis has had probably one of his worst seasons in his career so far as he has managed just 1 win in 12 matches in 2015, with an active 6 game losing streak!!

With Dolgo winning 4 of his 5 previous matches, this could be another miserable day for the Latvian Gulbis.

—> Back Dolgo @ 1.55, lay @1.25

Good luck!

Some Terms Explained:

Back: Normal Stakes – use 10% of bank.
Back Heavy(BH) – use up to 30% of bank. Used at members discretion. Delay and Trade.
Lay: Normal stakes – use 10% of bank.
Lay Heavy(LH) – use up to 30% of bank. Used at members discretion. Delay and Trade.
Likely 3 Setter – consider laying the winner of the first set.
Hot Tip – I have more confidence in these tips. However, use normal stake sizes.

Tips are deemed unsuccessful at 40% loss of stake.

All odds shown with the tips are correct at time of publishing. Odds are often given several hours ahead of the event. If odds have changed, adjust your back/lay stake accordingly e.g. if I tip ‘Back at 1.5, Lay at 1.25’ – and back odds move to 1.55, adjust your lay odds to 1.3 – there are still 25 ticks between the back and lay odds.

Delay and Trade!! It’s OK to place your trades before the match starts, but in my opinion, waiting 2/3 games before placing your trades is the safest way to trade. This is advised in many of the articles below. To delay and trade will give you a good feel for the match. Delay and Trade is a MUST if you are Backing Heavy. Delaying is advised mostly for the women’s game, as early breaks of serve are more likely.  Please read the relevant article below.
