Betfair Tennis Trading Tips: ATP/WTA Wednesday 29th October

ATP BNP PARIBAS:

1. 9:30 – Thiem v Wawrinka

Stan has been really disappointing since losing to Nishikori at the US Open. Since then, the only win he has had is beating Fognini in Davis Cup. On the other hand, Thiem hasn’t looked bad recently and played a solid match against Dolgopolov here in Paris. I really think this is going to be a tough match for Wawrinka if he doesn’t get his serves right!

TO LAY:

Lay Wawa @1.49, back @2.1

If Stan wins the first set, definitely consider laying him!

2. 11:15 – Gasquet v Agut

Odds say this may be a close match however I feel Gasquet has the better overall game and his odds should be lower. Back the Frenchman.

Considering a 3rd set isn’t a bad idea here..

3. 11:15 – Ferrer v Goffin –> HOT TIP

Ferrer has done exceptionally well here in Paris. He was the 2012 Champ and lost to Djokovic last year in a close match. This court for me is perfectly suited to his game.

Back the Spaniard!

Back Ferrer @1.5, lay @1.2

4. 16:30 – Fognini v Pouille –> HOT TIP

Pouille absolutely hammered the big serving Croat Karlovic yesterday. If he can handle those serves, he definitely has a chance here. Also worth noting that the French youngster knocked out both Nieminen and Johnson in 2 sets. On the contrary, Fognini hasn’t looked amazing at all recently.

Overall, I feel the money should be on the Frenchman’s side.

Lay Fognini @1.99, back @2.7

5. 19:30 – Monfils v Isner –> HOT TIP

These men have played 7 times with Isner leading 4-3. However, it’s worth noting that some of their matches were very close. Since Monfils is playing at home, I’m fancying the Frenchman who I believe is rightly priced here.

WTA TOUR OF CHAMPIONS:

6. 17:15 – Makarova v Muguruza

Muguruza for me has been the new queen of WTA this year. She does have the power and her serves are pretty decent as well. Recent form hasn’t been bad though Makarova beat her last time in Beijing in a tough 3 setter.

Makarova’s form  isn’t the best, losing to begu at home in 2 sets and also Vinci and Bacsinszky recently. Also worth pointing out that all three matches between these two have been 3 setters. Definitely consider a jump in Makarova’s odds, which implies Laying is the right strategy here.

Lay Maka @1.81, back @2.4

7. 18:45 – Cibulkova v Navarro –> HOT TIP

Navarro outgunned Petkovic yesterday in stunning fashion. Cibulkova though, had issues with Pironkova. I see a good win for the Spaniard here.
