Betfair Tennis Trading Tips: Australian Open Day 3

All times are UK/Irish and are subject to change, and all times are in 24hr format e.g., 01.00 = 1am and 16:00 = 4pm:

PLEASE NOTE, IF THERE ARE LIQUIDITY ISSUES, ALWAYS KEEP THE STAKES LOW

AUSTRALIAN OPEN DAY 3:

WOMEN:

1. 00:00 – Koukalova v Goerges:

Goerges blew away Bencic in the first round and also performed well in the earlier tournament in Auckland. The head to head is tied between these two but I’m confident of Goerges being the better performer as per current form, so agreeing with the market prices.

—> Back Goerges @1.32, lay @1.12

2. 01:15 – Hradecka v Hercog –> HOT TIP

Head to head is favouring Hradecka 1-0 which isn’t that important considering that match ended in a 3rd set tiebreaker.
What is significant however, is the fact that Hradecka knocked out one of the toughest hard court players in Ivanovic, after losing the first set 6-1 in the first round.

This is hence a great bet on the Czech in my opinion.

—> Back Hradecka @1.94, lay @1.5

3. 01:15 – Ka Pliskova v Dodin

Under normal circumstances you would go with the heavy favourite here against a less known youngster. However, Dodin has been improving constantly since the latter part of 2014. She already knocked out a tough Alison Riske in the first round and I’m forced to say that this could be a tough match for Karolina.

—> LAY Pliskova @1.14, back @1.8

*** The reason why I am giving such a high back price is because I do really feel Dodin has the potential to cause another upset tomorrow. So trade this one wisely and even if Pliskova wins the first set, consider laying her on odds of 1.05 and under.
A possible big time money maker here. ***

4. 08:00 – Bouchard v Bertens

Again a huge favourite here and I feel the opponent Bertens is a very dangerous and unpredictable opponent.
If the Canadian’s serves happen to have less effect tomorrow, watch out for a cracking match as this one could end up in a deciding 3rd set.

—> LAY Bouchard @1.14, back @1.45

*** Again, if odds hit too low on Bouchard, assuming she wins the first set comfortably, take a calculated risk by laying the Canadian at very low odds. ***

MENS:

5. 03:45 – Vasselin v Jaziri

Jaziri was worked up a lot and even had a slight injury issue against Kukushkin in the previous match. Vasselin hardly had to play in the 1st round as Robredo retired early. Back the Frenchman.

—> Back Vasselin @1.55, lay @1.25

6. 07:00 – Groth v Kokkinakis

The better server and more improved player off these two is Groth so fancying him to start the better.

—> Back Groth @1.72, lay @1.35

Good luck for Day 3!

Some Terms Explained:

Back: Normal Stakes – use 10% of bank.
Back Heavy(BH) – use up to 30% of bank. Used at members discretion. Delay and Trade.
Lay: Normal stakes – use 10% of bank.
Lay Heavy(LH) – use up to 30% of bank. Used at members discretion. Delay and Trade.
Likely 3 Setter – consider laying the winner of the first set.
Hot Tip – I have more confidence in these tips. However, use normal stake sizes.

Tips are deemed unsuccessful at 40% loss of stake.

All odds shown with the tips are correct at time of publishing. Odds are often given several hours ahead of the event. If odds have changed, adjust your back/lay stake accordingly e.g. if I tip ‘Back at 1.5, Lay at 1.25’ – and back odds move to 1.55, adjust your lay odds to 1.3 – there are still 25 ticks between the back and lay odds.

Delay and Trade!! It’s OK to place your trades before the match starts, but in my opinion, waiting 2/3 games before placing your trades is the safest way to trade. This is advised in many of the articles below. To delay and trade will give you a good feel for the match. Delay and Trade is a MUST if you are Backing Heavy. Delaying is advised mostly for the women’s game, as early breaks of serve are more likely.  Please read the relevant article below.

First of all best compliments on this great service of trade and bet tips !

Please help , using fairbot for following trade tips , placeing before match start .
I am obviously doing something wrong .
Please can you answer me what I do wrong ?
Plase step by step how can I place dual bet on tennis match before match start : BACK Groth @ 1,72 stake 10 euro , and Lay @ 1,35 staked 12,74 euro and STOP LOSS LAy @ 2,80 stake 6 euro ( manually able to change stake !) .

I am from Croatia CET time, and most matches plays when I am sleeping at night.
So I place ( program) my bets before matches start , I dont placeing bets during IN-PLAY events
This is example of trades on yesterday match Groth v Kokkinakis .
I ticked the tradeing tool , stop loss .
    I opened dual bet , checked smart bet , BACK Groth @ 1,72 stake 10 euro , and Lay @ 1,35 staked 12,74 euro .
    When I comfirmed 3 bets are opened : BAck @ 1,72 , LAy Lay @ 1,35 , and STOP LOSS bet !

Q : THIS STOP LOSS bet is problem : HOW Can I change stake on that STOP LOSS bet , I tried but no luck ?
since I have not managed to change the stop loss stake bet I canceled it (the stop loss bet automaticly created) I opened SINGLE STOP LOSS bet which I managed to change all parametres : place at , trigger at and STAKE .
SINGLE STOP LOSS bet ( LAY) : place at 2,80 , trigger at 2,70 and stake 10
    match finished Groth : Kokkinakis = 3:6 6:3 7:5 3:6 6:1
result of this 3 bets are : all 3 bets are matched !
    BAck @1,72 10 euro = 7,20 euro W , LAY @1,35 12,74 euro = -4,46 euro L , and SL @ 2,80 10 euro = -18 euro L

This is not what I want !
Q : In this trade market went against me so STOP LOSS matched @ 2,80 , Should not the lay bet @ 1,35 be canceled automaticly because stopp los bet was matched ?

    The same problem :
ON other trade which I place the same way like previous bet : with stop loss and trade turned on : BACK @1,70 , LAy @ 1,35 , and single stop loss 2,80 market went in my favour and both back and lay bet matched BUT STOP LOSS bet wasnt automaticly canceld ! ?

    Thank you inadvance

    I want to

Hi Gordan, I sent you a detailed answer in an earlier mail. But just in case anyone is reading this, and having the same type of issue, please download my free ebook – ‘back or lay’ – on the home page. It details how to use my tips with Fairbot; back, lays, stop loss and much more. It details the difference between a stop loss and a single stop loss which Gordan is having issue with. Single Stop Loss (SSL) will not automatically cancel unmatched back/lay bets. In order for back/lay bets to be cancelled automatically you must set a stop loss (SL). There’s plenty about the subject in the ebook. If you haven’t downloaded it, please do and have a read!! Patrick.

Also, I mailed Faurbot to ask them about the possibility of changing stop loss stakes – this was their reply:
‘Unfortunately current version of FairBot does not allow to adjust stakes of “SL” stop losses. But we will try to add this ability in the future.
      Best regards,
      Andrey
