AUSTRALIAN OPEN DAY 4:
WOMEN:
1. 00:00 – Muguruza v Hantuchova –> HOT TIP
As per form and serve stats, Muguruza is definitely the better player and deserves to be a heavy favourite here. Go for the Spaniard who is likely to have a good run in Australia.
—> Back Mugu @1.23, lay @1.08
2. 01:15 – Giorgi v Smitkova
One of the dark horses this year could be the Czech Smitkova. She hammered Lucic Baroni 6-1 6-1 in the last match which is a big statement. Giorgi started slowly against Pennetta and does take some time to adapt to the conditions. I’m favouring Smitkova to start better.
—> LAY Giorgi @1.75, back @2.5
3. 01:30 – Cibulkova v Pironkova —> HOT TIP
Pironkova’s form has been good prior to Australian Open but I do wonder if she is going to be a huge threat to last year’s finalist as she won against an injury ridden Watson in her opening round.
On the contrary, after losing the first set, Cibu stormed back to thrash Belgian Flipkens in the last match. If she gets her serves going, watch out for this girl who is good enough to cause some big upsets this year.
—> Back Cibu @1.78, lay @1.34
4. 04:00 – Falconi v Brengle
Falconi came through a tough match against Kanepi last time and Brengle shocked Petkovic in a thriller. I feel Brengle is the better player off these two at the moment as her form suggests from the recent Hobart tournament.
Back Brengle @1.3, lay @1.14
5. 08:00 – Azarenka v Wozniacki
By form Wozniacki is definitely on the up. As well as Aza played against Stephens, I think Wozniacki is the right favourite here who has a 5-3 head to head lead against the Belarusian.
—> Back Woz @1.78, lay @1.4
MENS:
6. 00:00 – Lopez v Mannarino
Mannarino is probably enjoying one of his best starts to a season. I’m fancying Lopez to have a lot of trouble tomorrow in this very tough to call match.
—> Lay Lopez @1.95, back @2.4
7. 00:00 – Giraldo v Johnson –> HOT TIP
The better server off these two is definitely the American. Go for him to start strongly.
Back Johnson @1.54, lay @1.25
8. 6:30 – Janowicz v Monfils –> HOT TIP
Monfils had a tough encounter against compatriot Pouille in the first round but came through eventually. In terms of overall strenghts, I must go for the Frenchman here who does have a 1-0 lead against the Pole.
Back Monfils @1.41, lay @1.18

Hot Tip – I have more confidence in these tips. However, use normal stake sizes.
Tips are deemed unsuccessful at 40% loss of stake.
All odds shown with the tips are correct at time of publishing. Odds are often given several hours ahead of the event. If odds have changed, adjust your back/lay stake accordingly e.g. if I tip ‘Back at 1.5, Lay at 1.25’ – and back odds move to 1.55, adjust your lay odds to 1.3 – there are still 25 ticks between the back and lay odds.
Delay and Trade!! It’s OK to place your trades before the match starts, but in my opinion, waiting 2/3 games before placing your trades is the safest way to trade. This is advised in many of the articles below. To delay and trade will give you a good feel for the match. Delay and Trade is a MUST if you are Backing Heavy. Delaying is advised mostly for the women’s game, as early breaks of serve are more likely. Please read the relevant article below.
