How Easy It Is To Trade Tennis On Betfair?

Hello Fellow Traders!
The odds in tennis matches can be fairly predictable ensuring nice profit if you’ve got the right attitude and just basic understanding of what’s happening on the court.
Here you can see the match between Mathieu and Karanusic in Zagreb. Mathieu is the match’s favourite and at the moment he’s serving and the underdog is the receiving player.
Common sense dictates that it’s easier to score if you’re serving and you don’t have to know tennis inside out to understand that at the moment of serving the advantage is on your side.
So let’s see how the odds behave following the players’ scoring on the court. Mathieu scores a point, and I back him immediately getting the bet matched at the odds of 1.45 using a hundred euro stake.
Federer Goes Into History – His Fifth Straight US Open Title!

Yesterday’s game was just amazing. The Swiss lad proved that everyone was badly mistaken when predicting his career’s downfall!
I was watching the match and made some profits when Murray broke in the second set, but most of the times I was just fascinated by Roger’s performance. Murray was the closest of any British man trying to win a Grand Slam since 1936, but the Swiss just annihilated his hopes. Despite Murray’s brilliant defensive play Federer was just unstoppable.
As he said later on: “I played great, you know. I felt like I was invincible for a while again, and that’s exactly how you want to finish a tournament.”

What’s The Proper Staking Plan?

This is one of the most frequent questions I’m asked – Paddy, what stakes should I be using when trading tennis on Betfair?
Watch this video and you’ll get your answers!
As you can imagine, trading staking plans differ between professional Betfair traders and novices. You just can’t start operating with 100 pound stakes right after you’ve opened your Betfair account – well actually you can, but it’s not a good idea!
No matter how safe the whole trading process may seem to you, you definitely need to develop your trading technical skills first and then increase the stakes.
Betfair Tennis Trading – Queen’s – Tsonga – Haas

Hello folks, in this Betfair trading video I’ll show you when to use the ‘Manual Close’ button in BetAngel software instead of the ‘Current Close’.
You see – when the liquidity in the market is good and the money amounts are well distributed among the odds I usually use the ‘Current Close’ button for greening out. However, in the situations like I’m having right now it’s impossible to green out using the ‘Current Close’ button as there’s very little money available at the former match’s favourite Tsonga.
His odds were 1.7 before the match and when he lost the first set I backed him at 3.55 using a hundred euro stake. Both players are playing very evenly in the second set scoring the game points in turn and when Tsonga scores a few points taking Haas’s serves I decide to close the trade using the ‘Current Close’ button and go for 36 euro profit.
But the next moment the odds shoot up due to the lack of money in the market and even though Tsonga is still leading the game the gap between the back and the lay sides is huge. Not the best Betfair tennis market to trade in, right?
Well, just have a look how easily you can set the odds and place a bet next to the matching point and close the trade still making a decent profit.
I’m setting the odds to 2.78 and by hitting the ‘Manual Close’ button the stake becomes available for the backers to take. In a few moments time I’m greening out and making more than 27 euro profit!

Best wishes,
Paddy

While I’m waiting for the next tournament, I decided to give you some advice on how to best approach the Betfair tennis trading. You know – the mind stuff, how not to lose your head and start gambling instead of trading and those sort of things.
I’ve received plenty of e-mails from my customers who are very concerned about one thing in general.
They can grasp all the tennis trading concepts and apply them in the real life. However, staying focused and calm even if you’re forced to accept losses seems to be the hardest thing of them all. And even if you don’t want to, you start placing completely stupid bets and eventually your Betfair account is dry.
So this is the first video about the importance of controlling your emotions while trading tennis on Betfair.
Please don’t underestimate the importance of these videos – they will make and save you money. Until next time!

Betfair Tennis Trading – WTA Miami – Williams vs Li

Hi All!
Now I’m going to show you how I made nice 44 euro profit on a tennis match where many would probably lose as much. To be honest – I was also on the verge of trading out and taking a loss. However, Williams had to score just one point and the whole situation turned upside down and I could start reflecting on how to maximize the profits instead of minimizing the losses!
So here you can see that I’ve backed the favourite player Williams at odds of 1.66 using a hundred euro stake. As you can see her price is shortening and I could make around 15 euro profit had I closed the trade at the current odds. But there’s an essential part of every trading strategy – and it’s the minimum necessary profit per trade. In other words – unless the odds have reached the critical level – don’t get out of the trade!
Of course, no two tennis matches are the same and you always have to add that human factor to the trading process. But generally speaking – you just can’t afford to close trades as soon as the odds are moving in your favour and taking big losses at the same time, waiting until the last moment to see if the price is going the opposite way.
The second match ends with a tiebreak and it’s a very special moment for traders – a great opportunity looms. The price fluctuations are very large – especially if a player can win the whole match by winning the tiebreak.
In this tiebreak such a player is Na Li – if she wins the tiebreak, the match point is hers. Therefore I have to watch the game very closely in case if the underdog pushes Williams’s odds too high and the potential loss figure that’s showing in red gets too big.
But Williams manages to win this set point and the odds slip out of the critical zone. However, even by scoring the set point she doesn’t secure the minimum profit needed in this match. So I’m waiting a bit into the third set to see how the players perform. If Williams manages to break, it will most likely insure the profit margin I’ve calculated for this match.
And indeed – as Williams breaks in the third game of the third set, her odds shorten to 1.15 and I can close the trade with 44 euro profit! Not bad for less than an hour’s work. Do that 3 times a day and you’ll probably earn more than you do now in your day job. All you need is the right strategies at the right times.
Thanks and talk to you soon,

Don’t Drink And Trade!

Do you know what’s the easiest way of losing all your trading money and NOT make a single profitable trade?
It’s simple – have a few pints before you trade and invite your mates to see how you trade!
Did you know pro traders don’t look at money as the instant result to their trading activities? Traders concentrate on making correct decisions safe in the knowledge that each decision makes profit. Alcohol seriously impairs decision making – and bad decision making will cost money!
Other essential elements of a well managed Betfair tennis trading process are:
* Technical preparation
* Self-discipline
You really need to separate trading from leisure. Although Betfair trading CAN be time well spent, it still requires strong nerves and concentration – things which are easy to lose if you’re distracted by something else.
By no means do I mean to scare you with the seriousness of Betfair tennis trading. It IS nice looking at your Betfair account after the trading session and see it grow. And it’s an amazing feeling when you’re withdrawing a few hundred from it!
Nonetheless, read or watch what I think about decent preparation before you start trading and risking your money.
Remember, alcohol impairs judgement and decision making – don’t drink and trade!
Best of Luck,
Paddy
How To Empty Your Betfair Account

Hello Folks!
It’s me – Paddy – and this time I’m going to tell you some stuff about gambling. To be more precise – you’ll find out what it really takes to go bust and empty your Betfair account in no time!
You know, even though Betfair trading seems to be quite innocent and the very concept of greening out makes the risk factor insignificant, it’s still there. But I’m not talking about the actual risk when placing the bets and assessing the price fluctuations.
I’m talking about the little devil that whispers into your ear – ‘Hey bud, wait a bit longer, don’t close the trade with a loss! You can still make some profit here, don’t you see?’ And eventually you end up having lost even more than you could have! Does this situation sound familiar to you? Then watch my video about getting rid of the gambling spirit – useful stuff for every Betfair tennis trader.
