Sometimes tennis players can fight for a game point for quite a long time – like in this match between Richard Gasquet and Carlos Moya in Romania Open 13 September 2008.

It was the end of the third game when Moya took the advantage and he was potentially to score a break point.

As we know, break points are very decisive moments in Betfair tennis trading, so I layed the favourite Gasquet at the odds of 1.72 using a hundred euro stake and kept on following the match.

The fight between the players went on for quite a long time as they each kept on scoring points and still no game point was scored.

After around three minutes the under-dog finally managed to break in this game and the favourite’s odds jumped up to 2.02.

I was waiting for a few moments into the break before the next game to see if the odds would drift out even more. As they didn’t, I backed the favourite Gasquet using the same hundred euro stake.

These were my first 30 euro earned on this match and there were more good moments to come, but this one is a very good example of a break point’s impact on the player’s odds in Betfair tennis trading.

As you can see, a nice 30% profit can be made in a single trade!

Later on, of course, I transferred the biggest part of profits to Moya’s side as he started to lead the match. It wouldn’t be clever to leave the entire green amount on a losing favourite, would it?
