The odds in tennis matches can be fairly predictable ensuring nice profit if you’ve got the right attitude and just basic understanding of what’s happening on the court.

Here you can see the match between Mathieu and Karanusic in Zagreb. Mathieu is the match’s favourite and at the moment he’s serving and the underdog is the receiving player.

Common sense dictates that it’s easier to score if you’re serving and you don’t have to know tennis inside out to understand that at the moment of serving the advantage is on your side.

So let’s see how the odds behave following the players’ scoring on the court. Mathieu scores a point, and I back him immediately getting the bet matched at the odds of 1.45 using a hundred euro stake.

As you can see, Mathieu’s price drops straight away and I can theoretically lay him off at 1.42. However, I’m not in a rush of exiting the trade as if the favourite scores a few more points in this game, I can increase my profit margin a great deal!

The next point is also scored by the favourite; his price shortens even more, which is a common sense event as well. As you can see, this is not rocket science – players’ scoring is mirroring in the odds movement on the screen and my task is to open and close the trade at the right moments.

And such a moment comes when Mathieu scores another point and I don’t hesitate laying him off at 1.34 locking in 11 euro profit! 10% of the stake made in less than a minute – can you see the potential of Betfair tennis trading?

But now – another moment in a tennis match when the odds can be used to your advantage just by applying common sense knowledge of tennis scoring.

The winner of a set is decided when a player has scored at least 6 game points and is leading by at least 2 points. Can you see what’s happening now? Karanusic is just a game point away from winning the first set in this match. It’s not going to make or break the whole match for him; however, the odds will be especially sensitive in this game which allows for good profits! Karanusic doesn’t even need to score the game point; a few scored points would be enough to top up the green figure by another 10% at least!

So I’m laying the favourite player off at 1.44 and waiting on the events to unfold. Karanusic indeed scores a point and it’s getting reflected in the odds, of course – as you can see, the favourite is trading at 1.47 right now. But then the underdog scores another point which brings him just two points away from the set point! Mathieu’s odds drift out to 1.67 and I’m not going to wait for any longer – 23 euro profit!

Did you see how big the odds fluctuation was at the moment when the favourite player was facing defeat in the first set? You can also use such moments to your advantage when trading tennis on Betfair, just remember – the exit strategies play a crucial role in the trading process and I’m setting them out thoroughly throughout my Tennis Trading League Systems.

You see – when the liquidity in the market is good and the money amounts are well distributed among the odds I usually use the ‘Current Close’ button for greening out. However, in the situations like I’m having right now it’s impossible to green out using the ‘Current Close’ button as there’s very little money available at the former match’s favourite Tsonga.

His odds were 1.7 before the match and when he lost the first set I backed him at 3.55 using a hundred euro stake. Both players are playing very evenly in the second set scoring the game points in turn and when Tsonga scores a few points taking Haas’s serves I decide to close the trade using the ‘Current Close’ button and go for 36 euro profit.

But the next moment the odds shoot up due to the lack of money in the market and even though Tsonga is still leading the game the gap between the back and the lay sides is huge. Not the best Betfair tennis market to trade in, right?

Well, just have a look how easily you can set the odds and place a bet next to the matching point and close the trade still making a decent profit.

I’m setting the odds to 2.78 and by hitting the ‘Manual Close’ button the stake becomes available for the backers to take. In a few moments time I’m greening out and making more than 27 euro profit!

I don’t post the videos here regularly as it takes a lot of time and effort to create them and I’d rather spend my time focusing on executing profitable trades!

Now I’m going to show you how I made nice 44 euro profit on a tennis match where many would probably lose as much. To be honest – I was also on the verge of trading out and taking a loss. However, Williams had to score just one point and the whole situation turned upside down and I could start reflecting on how to maximize the profits instead of minimizing the losses!

So here you can see that I’ve backed the favourite player Williams at odds of 1.66 using a hundred euro stake. As you can see her price is shortening and I could make around 15 euro profit had I closed the trade at the current odds. But there’s an essential part of every trading strategy – and it’s the minimum necessary profit per trade. In other words – unless the odds have reached the critical level – don’t get out of the trade!

Of course, no two tennis matches are the same and you always have to add that human factor to the trading process. But generally speaking – you just can’t afford to close trades as soon as the odds are moving in your favour and taking big losses at the same time, waiting until the last moment to see if the price is going the opposite way.

The second match ends with a tiebreak and it’s a very special moment for traders – a great opportunity looms. The price fluctuations are very large – especially if a player can win the whole match by winning the tiebreak.

In this tiebreak such a player is Na Li – if she wins the tiebreak, the match point is hers. Therefore I have to watch the game very closely in case if the underdog pushes Williams’s odds too high and the potential loss figure that’s showing in red gets too big.

But Williams manages to win this set point and the odds slip out of the critical zone. However, even by scoring the set point she doesn’t secure the minimum profit needed in this match. So I’m waiting a bit into the third set to see how the players perform. If Williams manages to break, it will most likely insure the profit margin I’ve calculated for this match.

And indeed – as Williams breaks in the third game of the third set, her odds shorten to 1.15 and I can close the trade with 44 euro profit! Not bad for less than an hour’s work. Do that 3 times a day and you’ll probably earn more than you do now in your day job. All you need is the right strategies at the right times.

Hello my Betfair trading fanatics!

In this Betfair tennis trading video you’ll see a typical example of Race Your Profits System in action.

There are several chances in every match to make big profits – this is a match where just two opportunites made a nice profit.

When the favourite loses the first set, we back her and I’m using a hundred euro stake. 2.12 are the odds I’m getting, and now I can follow the second set watching out for any events that would force me to either accept loss or close the trade with a profit.

When the favourite Vaidisova wins her serves the odds are already down to 1.98. But then the next game begins with her taking the serves. After she breaks in the second game of the second set, I’m laying her and the bet gets matched at 1.61.

31 euro profit has been made on her break point – can you see the potential of break points in tennis trading now?

But that’s not all!

You don’t have to limit yourself by taking advantage of only one break point. If the right criteria are met when another break point occurs – why not use it to your advantage? In the third set Kerber breaks as well and starts leading the match. But the next game is played very well by the former underdog so I decide to lay Kerber.

And as you can see now I’m laying the underdog Kerber because there’s quite a big chance Vaidisova is going to strive to even the score.

The first points of the game are scored by Kerber but the odds critical level hasn’t been reached, so I can allow another point to be scored by her before exiting the trade. But then Vaidisova starts scoring and as she breaks to 40 I’m closing the trade with 25 euro profit. The overall match profit – 58 euro!

An important lesson can be leaned here – there are several occasions in every match to make profits – 58 euro is by no means the limit – but 58 euro in less than 90 minutes is more than we make in our day job!

Well – I guess I can afford a pint or two in the evening, what you think?

I’m going to use one of my favourite tennis trading strategies which is very simple yet also very effective. Basically all you need to know is – when to back and when to lay the favourite. But then all trades are simple in their essence, aren’t they?

The next bet I’m placing is, of course, the lay bet. The ideal moment for closing the trade is when the favourite breaks in a game. When it happens at the end of the second set I can lay him at the odds of 1.5 making a whopping 67 euro profit! In this short video I’ll show you a couple of trades executed on the match between Clement and Safin in Open 13 and you’ll clearly see the importance of the receiving player’s scored points in a tennis match and the effect it has on the odds.

Safin is the match’s favourite player and at the moment the score in the first set is 3:1 with Clement leading the game. Safin’s odds have increased and the current odds favour Clement. Just have a look right under the score table where it says that Clement broke in the fourth game. It’s an indicator that Clement is in a very good condition at the moment and as we can see after the yellow square appearing next to Clement’s name, he’s serving right now.

So what should this tell you? Well, since he broke in the last game and has already scored two points in this game, there’s a very good change he’ll score at least one more point in this game. So you’d probably say I should execute the trade by backing Clement and then laying him off, right?

Well, then listen to this – points scored by Safin bear much bigger importance at the moment since he’s the receiving player!

As Safin scores a point I’m laying Clement at 1.78 and the bet gets matched. As he scores the next point I’m backing Clement at 1.94 and 16 euro profit appears at Clement!

I executed the trade using the money circulating at Clement because he’s got bigger liquidity at the moment and he’s still the match’s favourite judging by the odds.

However, the situation in the market changes very soon and the Safin’s odds shorten and Clement’s drift out as Safin breaks in this game.

He wins the next game as well, and there’s no doubt he’s regained the leading position as a favourite. I’m backing him at 1.7 in the 7th game of the match and he just has to score two points to enable me close the trade at 1.58. 12 euro profit has just been made on the receiving player again!

It’s the WTA tournament in Parris, and the match is being played between Bartoli and Parmentier. Bartoli is this match’s favourite and during the first set I just monitored the score occasionally without taking any action.

As it sometimes happens, the favourite player loses the first set and this is where one of my tennis trading strategies – Race Your Profits – kicks in!

It’s nothing too complicated – you just have to place a back bet on the player when the set is over. In this case I’m placing the bet at the odds of 2.28 using a hundred euro stake; and the bet gets easily matched.

Parmentier starts serving the first game of the second set but eventually he gets broken by Bartoli who’s gathered up and leads the game despite taking the serves. His price drops down to 1.74 and I could actually lay him right now making slightly more than 30 euro.

But I decide to follow the match into the next game as Bartoli seems to be quite confident and serving is much easier than taking the serves.

Both players are scoring an even number of points until the very end of the game when the favourite Bartoli gains the advantage and then finally wins the game point as well.

This enables me to close the trade with more than 35 euro profit – yet another proof of profitability of the Betfair tennis trading!

The favourite of this match is the French player Tsonga and at the beginning of the match his odds were around 1.55.

I didn’t do anything during the first set of the match but now comes a very interesting moment. The favourite player Tsonga loses the first set and his odds drift out to 2.52.

Now tell me – even if you don’t know anything about trading tennis on Betfair – isn’t odds 2.52 a bit too high for a favourite player who’s lost only the first set by 6 : 4 ?

Yes, the player is a underpriced at the moment and that’s why I’m backing him at the odds of 2.52 using a hundred euro stake.

And now comes the next set and also the time for more action and profiteering!

Tsonga scores the first game point in the second set and it’s very promising as his odds shorten to 2.2. However, the most volatile prices can be observed when one of the players is facing a break point – and that’s exactly what I want to see in the next game of this set.

So I backed the favourite after the first set at the odds of 2.52 and now I’m following the second game in the second set to see how the events unfold on the court.

The game is being played very evenly by each player scoring points in turn until the favourite is with the advantage and his odds have dropped to 1.9 enabling more than 32 euro profit.

This is exactly what I’m doing and I’m placing a lay bet on Tsonga by clicking on the ‘Current Close’ button on BetAngel Pro screen. In a few moments the profit is split between both players evenly and no matter what happens I’ll get my 32 euro when the match ends!

But now – the best part of this video. Just have a look at what happens with the favourite’s price in a few moments – when he scores the break point. Yes, it was the very moment I was looking forward to; however, I decided to leave the trade when Tsonga had the advantage as I had already reached the necessary profit threshold.

So have a look now – the price drops down to 1.6!

Do you think I’m very regretful about not keeping the trade open for a few more moments? Well, I can only say one thing – this is what separates a gambler from a trader!

It’s essential to judge the events on the court by listening to your inner voice and while I could have made by far bigger profit by waiting a few more moments, I still made 32% profit from the stake, which is not bad at all.

And most importantly – never allow yourself to slip into a habit of counting the money you didn’t make. You’re risking of starting keeping the trades open for too long which is the very opposite of why you’re trading tennis on Betfair – executing profitable trades!

This is a match between Starace and Robredo in Copa Telmex tournament and I got to start following the match only in the middle of the first set. The favourite player Robredo lost the first set; however, despite that, he’s performing quite well right now.

You know – it’s not uncommon for a good player to lose the first set of the match and emerge the winner at the end; the first set doesn’t necessarily decide the result of the match.

Having quickly analyzed the scoring in the first seven games of the second set I came to a conclusion that Robredo performs better than the underdog and he can potentially break in the next game. He was very confident when serving and he also scored a few points when taking Starace’s serves. And, given the potential of break points in tennis trading, I decided to go ahead with opening the trade.

So the deciding factor for backing the favourite player in this case is his confident performance in the previous game and also in the game prior to the last one when he was the receiving player.

I’m placing the back bet at the odds of 1.78 before the next game has started and now I have to follow the match and watch the odds closely being ready to close the trade at any time should the market go against me.

The players score an even number of points each, until the favourite Robredo is just a point away from breaking in this game. And then he breaks and the break point makes the price shorten down to a measly 1.35!

The bet remains unmatched for a while, bet eventually the heavily backed favourite’s odds shorten and I’m making a huge 43 euro profit.

I guess I don’t need to make any additional comments. Break points are the way to go when you trade tennis on Betfair!
