Federer Goes Into History – The Fifth Straight US Open Title!

Yesterday’s game was just amazing. The 27-year-old Swiss lad proved that everyone was badly mistaken when predicting his career’s downfall!

I was watching the match and made some profits when Murray broke in the second set, but most of the times I was just fascinated by Roger’s performance. Murray was the closest British man trying to win a Grand Slam since 1936, but the Swiss just annihilated his hopes. Despite Murray’s brilliant defensive play Federer was just unstoppable.

As he said later on: “I played great, you know. I felt like I was invincible for a while again, and that’s exactly how you want to finish a tournament.”

Just a few stats about Federer.

He’s won five consecutive US Open titles. He’s become the first player in tennis history to win two Grand Slam tournaments five years straight. And he’s won 13 Grand Slam titles overall! The only unbeatable stays Pete Sampras who’s made 14!

What many thought to be the start of Rafael Nadal’s reign in the tennis kingdom, hasn’t happened exactly so. This time Nadal was knocked out by the Scot Andy Murray and he in turn gave victory to Roger Federer.

Yes, although I trade tennis mainly for profit on Betfair, I have to admit that such moments are really breathtaking – to witness a victory one of the tennis all-time-greats!
