WIMBLEDON DAY 3:
MEN:
1. 11:30 – Dimitrov v St.Johnson
I realise the odds are too low here on Dimitrov but feel there is value in backing considering Dimitrov’s performance in the last game, where he looked almost unplayable.
If he carries on that form, the Bulgarian can aim high in this tournament.
—> Back Dimi @1.18, lay @1.05
2. 13:00 – Isner v Ebden
Australian Sam Groth knocked out American Jack Sock yesterday. Round 2 today! This time, I feel America will have the final word as Isner is good enough to beat Ebden comfortably.
—> Back Isner @1.25, lay @1.14
3. 13:00 – Millman v Baghdatis
Millman knocked out Robredo in 3 sets previously. While I agree Baghdatis’ form is good coming into this match, there is a possible upset here..
I suggest laying Baghda but keep the stakes low or medium for this trade..
—> Lay Baghdatis @1.33, back @1.7
4. 13:00 – Haas v Raonic
Raonic should be the favourite for sure, but with enough experience behind him, Tommy Haas can’t be ignored.
I’m going to take a calculated risk on Haas here as his game was pretty spot on against Lajovic in the 1st round.
—> Lay Raonic @1.18, back @1.5
5. 14:30 – Kudla v Zverev
Zverev is coming into this match after beating a very tough Gabashvili in 5 sets. Also, his form is pretty good beating Kukushkin and Nieminen in Nottingham and even taking a set of Karlovic at Stuttgart.
Overall, I feel Zverev is good enough to win this match!
—> Lay Kudla @1.81, back @2.6
6. 15:15 – Giraldo v Nishikori —> HOT TIP
An almost sure trade for me this one as I just cannot see Nishi losing today.
—> Back Nishi @1.19, lay @1.04
WOMEN:
7. 11:30 – Ka.PLiskova v Vandeweghe –> HOT TIP
Form is definitely with Karolina Pliskova as she reached the final at Birmingham, losing only to Kerber in a tight 3rd set.
—> Back Pliskova @1.43, lay @1.18
Good luck!
Some Terms Explained:
Back: Normal Stakes – use 10% of bank.
Back Heavy(BH) – use up to 30% of bank. Used at members discretion. Delay and Trade.
Lay: Normal stakes – use 10% of bank.
Lay Heavy(LH) – use up to 30% of bank. Used at members discretion. Delay and Trade.
Likely 3 Setter – consider laying the winner of the first set.
Hot Tip – I have more confidence in these tips. However, use normal stake sizes.
Tips are deemed unsuccessful at 40% loss of stake.
All odds shown with the tips are correct at time of publishing. Odds are often given several hours ahead of the event. If odds have changed, adjust your back/lay stake accordingly e.g. if I tip ‘Back at 1.5, Lay at 1.25’ – and back odds move to 1.55, adjust your lay odds to 1.3 – there are still 25 ticks between the back and lay odds.
Delay and Trade!! It’s OK to place your trades before the match starts, but in my opinion, waiting 2/3 games before placing your trades is the safest way to trade. This is advised in many of the articles below. To delay and trade will give you a good feel for the match. Delay and Trade is a MUST if you are Backing Heavy. Delaying is advised mostly for the women’s game, as early breaks of serve are more likely. Please read the relevant article below.
