WIMBLEDON DAY 13:

MENS FINAL:

14:00 – NOVAK DJOKOVIC V ROGER FEDERER

Finally we’ve come to the most exciting encounter in this year’s Wimbledon Championships with World No.1 Novak Djokovic facing his only remaining hurdle, the Swiss legend Roger Federer.

I had predicted Roger to do very wellbefore the tournament started, with odds of 8 on Betfair. This turned out to be spot on. In fact, even with that prediction, I must say I did not see him beating the local favourite Andy Murray in such stunning fashion in the Semis.
Indeed many have pointed out that the match was one of Roger’s best ever performances on Grass.

My first impression of these odds is that Djokovic maybe priced a bit high. This is because unlike Murray, Novak is a much better returner and also serves consistently. Hence, Roger is likely to have his biggest test yet! Then again, if the Swiss maestro is to have any chance in being crowned this year, the 1st set is simply a MUST WIN.

Overall, I am inclined to lay Djokovic here as Federer’s good  momentum is likely to work well at the start and deteriorate as time goes by.

—> LAY DJOKOVIC @1.88, BACK @2.55

I cannot really predict how this match is going to go eventually as both these players are exceptionally good. From Novak’s point of view, losing to Stan in French is just that extra bit of incentive to win this one, also as the defending champ. From Roger’s perspective, winning any grand slam is a question with Novak constantly improving. And this could indeed be his last throw of the dice for Roger.

Either way, unlike the Women’s Final which was dominated by Serena, this one promises to be a mouthwatering affair!

Good luck!

Some Terms Explained:

Back: Normal Stakes – use 10% of bank.
Back Heavy(BH) – use up to 30% of bank. Used at members discretion. Delay and Trade.
Lay: Normal stakes – use 10% of bank.
Lay Heavy(LH) – use up to 30% of bank. Used at members discretion. Delay and Trade.
Likely 3 Setter – consider laying the winner of the first set.
Hot Tip – I have more confidence in these tips. However, use normal stake sizes.

Tips are deemed unsuccessful at 40% loss of stake.

All odds shown with the tips are correct at time of publishing. Odds are often given several hours ahead of the event. If odds have changed, adjust your back/lay stake accordingly e.g. if I tip ‘Back at 1.5, Lay at 1.25’ – and back odds move to 1.55, adjust your lay odds to 1.3 – there are still 25 ticks between the back and lay odds.

Delay and Trade!! It’s OK to place your trades before the match starts, but in my opinion, waiting 2/3 games before placing your trades is the safest way to trade. This is advised in many of the articles below. To delay and trade will give you a good feel for the match. Delay and Trade is a MUST if you are Backing Heavy. Delaying is advised mostly for the women’s game, as early breaks of serve are more likely.  Please read the relevant article below.

Some folks have asked why I call the tips ‘Betfair Tennis Trading Tips’ and have asked if the tips can be used on other betting exchanges. I use Betfair for all my trading because Betfair has the best liquidity. All of my prices are taken from Betfair.
Betfair Tennis Trading gives you the best opportunities to make profits. You can use the trading tips on other exchanges – there may be small price differences – but these shouldn’t matter. If you decide to use a site other that Betfair for trading, make sure that the liquidity is there.
If you’re unsure about what liquidity is required, see question 17 on my FAQ section at http://tennis-trading-league.com/faq/
