The 5th seed Dusan Lajovic will play Juan Landero, while an in-form 6th seed Taylor Fritz will meet Alexander Bublik for the first time in his career.

Inconsistent 7th sees Kyle Edmund will face Cristian Garin, to whom he lost when the pair last met.

Rounding out the seeds an number 8 is Russian Denis Shapovalov. He will have to get through Ricardis Berankis, a man who surprisingly knocked him out at Wimbledon earlier this year.

An intriguing tournament ahead. Isner has found a little form at the Laver Cup while Aliassime has struggled in the past month. Paire is the bigger threat for me at Chengdu after a good run in Metz.
