Some Terms Explained:
Back: Low Stakes – use 10% of bank.
Back Heavy(BH) – use up to 30% of bank. Used at members discretion. Delay and Trade.
Lay: Low stakes – use 10% of bank.
Lay Heavy(LH) – use up to 30% of bank. Used at members discretion. Delay and Trade.
Likely 3 Setter – consider laying the winner of the first set.
Hot Tip – I have more confidence in these tips. However, use normal stake sizes.
Tips are deemed unsuccessful at 40% loss of stake.
All odds shown with the tips are correct at time of publishing. Odds are often given several hours ahead of the event. If odds have changed, adjust your back/lay stake accordingly e.g. if I tip ‘Back at 1.5, Lay at 1.25’ – and back odds move to 1.6, adjust your lay odds to 1.35 – there are still 25 ticks between the back and lay odds.
Delay and Trade!! It’s OK to place your trades before the match starts, but in my opinion, waiting 2/3 games before placing your trades is the safest way to trade. This is advised in many of the articles below. To delay and trade will give you a good feel for the match. Delay and Trade is a MUST if you are Backing Heavy. Delaying is advised mostly for the women’s game, as early breaks of serve are more likely. Please read the relevant article below.

Again, seems to be good work for today. Even Radwanska went in that direction, unfortunalle she was 3-0 in lead the the stop loss fired. But her odds went up to 1.34, the pattern is clearly in sight.
Lisicki injured herself – no chance to react for us.
But overall thanks again, Patrick!
I added Hantuchova and Sharapova – Sharapova does play a hard game, but Hantuchova was an easy one. ANd thanks for backing heavy tip in Cibul – great match!
Hi Christian – yeah was a good day especially with the back Heavy tip success..you’re very welcome. Please keep the comments coming in…
Parmentier v Shvedova
This was interresting match.
At the match start Shvedova’s back odds was 1.34
Shvedova won the first set 1:6 and lost the second set 6:3. At the start of the third set Shvedova odds was 1.59, much higher when the match started. 1.59-1.34 = 25 tick difference.
What is the reason behind this odds increasing?
Hi Kristof – I would say that the odds difference is due to the fact that she had just lost a set and statistics say that in a 3 setter like this, the person who wins the second set has momentum and are more likely to win the final set. As you are well aware, tennis matches are about swings in momentum and prices often reflect this.
If she had lost the first 6-1 and won the second 6-3, I would imagine she would be back to her starting price…

You can see it even in a fist set. Market reacts to a match. If for example a favorite has lots of break chances and he does not convert them his back odds go down because a market assumes that it will happen sooner and later and of course vice versa. The change of odds in a first set is not as dramatic as in a deciding one.
