Betfair Tennis Trading Tips 8th June – French Open Final Day

french open 2014

All times are UK/Irish and are subject to change, and all times are in 24hr format e.g., 01.00 = 1am and 16:00 = 4pm:

PLEASE NOTE, IF THERE ARE LIQUIDITY ISSUES, ALWAYS KEEP THE STAKES LOW.

MENS FINAL

1. 14:00 – Nadal v Djokovic

Back Nadal@1.87, lay@1.4

Rafa has improved with each round. So to be safe, I’m going to pick Rafa to start better here.

Overall, I do still believe Djokovic can win this match but sticking to Rafa at the start.

FRENCH OPEN WOMEN’s DOUBLES:

2. 11:00 – Errani/Vinci v Peng/Hsieah

BACK HEAVY!

I really think Errani and Vinci will be too good against the Asian team.

BH Errani/Vinci@1.55, lay@1.16

Good luck!

Some Terms Explained:

Back: Low Stakes – use 10% of bank.
Back Heavy(BH) – use up to 30% of bank. Used at members discretion. Delay and Trade.
Lay: Low stakes – use 10% of bank.
Lay Heavy(LH) – use up to 30% of bank. Used at members discretion. Delay and Trade.
Likely 3 Setter – consider laying the winner of the first set.
Hot Tip – I have more confidence in these tips. However, use normal stake sizes.

Tips are deemed unsuccessful at 40% loss of stake.

All odds shown with the tips are correct at time of publishing. Odds are often given several hours ahead of the event. If odds have changed, adjust your back/lay stake accordingly e.g. if I tip ‘Back at 1.5, Lay at 1.25’ – and back odds move to 1.6, adjust your lay odds to 1.35 – there are still 25 ticks between the back and lay odds.

Delay and Trade!! It’s OK to place your trades before the match starts, but in my opinion, waiting 2/3 games before placing your trades is the safest way to trade. This is advised in many of the articles below. To delay and trade will give you a good feel for the match. Delay and Trade is a MUST if you are Backing Heavy. Delaying is advised mostly for the women’s game, as early breaks of serve are more likely.  Please read the relevant article below.

Help and Advice: Tennis Trading Tip – Successful or not?

Some folks have asked why I call the tips ‘Betfair Tennis Trading Tips’ and have asked if the tips can be used on other betting exchanges. I use Betfair for all my trading because Betfair has the best liquidity. All of my prices are taken from Betfair.
Betfair Tennis Trading gives you the best opportunities to make profits. You can use the trading tips on other exchanges – there may be small price differences – but these shouldn’t matter. If you decide to use a site other that Betfair for trading, make sure that the liquidity is there.
If you’re unsure about what liquidity is required, see question 17 on my FAQ section at https://tennis-trading-league.com/faq/

    Errani/Vinci v Peng/Hsieah

This was my worst trade in my life. I could only match at 1.41 with delaying (starting odds was around 1.36), so the lay bet was @1.02 with the original tick offset. Lowest odds was 1.13 on Errani/Vinci. (So anyone who decided to take the early morning price at 1.55, the trade was a winner for him.)

Errani/Vinci was very poor and lost the match easily. My Stop Loss didn’t matched at the expected loss, and I could only exit with 50% of the original 30 unit stake. I decided to wait for a come back, but Errani/Vinci made many mistake and lost the second set by 6-1.
This is a shocking loss to my bank. Conclusion: always take the loss, even if is bigger than the expected 40% loss. TTL tips are good, but one mistake in a month and the bank could be down by 30%.

Hi Kristof – thanks for the comment and the warning to all about minimising losses. I advise all traders to take losses when necessary. Accept 40% loss which is only 4% of bank if you follow my staking advice and any loss will be a minimal hit to your bank..
