All times are UK/Irish and are subject to change, and all times are in 24hr format e.g., 01.00 = 1am and 16:00 = 4pm:
PLEASE NOTE, IF THERE ARE LIQUIDITY ISSUES, ALWAYS KEEP THE STAKES LOW
WTA NOTTINGHAM:
1. 12:00 – Niculescu v Konta
Both players had tough earlier round matches but Konta, I must admit, looks very much like the right favourite here. Go for the Brit.
—> Back Konta @1.9, lay @1.55
2. 16:30 – Konjuh v Vickery
Ana Konjuh has looked dominant in both her previous matches. I agree that she should be a good favourite here. Definitely suggesting to back her in this match..
—> Back Konjuh @1.35, lay @1.14
WTA TOPSHELF:
3. 10:00 – Vandeweghe v Bertens
Kiki Bertens has been spectacular in this tournament knocking out both Zhang and a veteran Pavyluchenkova in 2 sets. While Vandeweghe is also yet to lose a set so far, I feel she had closer matches.
Suggesting to lay the American Vandeweghe in what could be a possible upset.
—> Lay Vandeweghe @1.46, back @2
ATP TOPSHELF:
4. 11:30 – Karlovic v Haase
So far Robin Haase has played some really good tennis in his home tourney. With Karlo most likely to rely on tie-break points (as always), I fancy the overall better player in Haase.
—> Lay Karlovic @1.56, back @2.5
5. 12:55 – Nadal v Tomic
Nadal’s fitness level throughout this season has been a question. Also his match against Baghdatis in the earlier round was quite a tricky affair. I quite agree with these odds, as, if Tomic serves good enough, he can beat Rafa here.
—> Lay Nadal @1.64, back @2
Good luck!
Some Terms Explained:
Back: Normal Stakes – use 10% of bank.
Back Heavy(BH) – use up to 30% of bank. Used at members discretion. Delay and Trade.
Lay: Normal stakes – use 10% of bank.
Lay Heavy(LH) – use up to 30% of bank. Used at members discretion. Delay and Trade.
Likely 3 Setter – consider laying the winner of the first set.
Hot Tip – I have more confidence in these tips. However, use normal stake sizes.
Tips are deemed unsuccessful at 40% loss of stake.
All odds shown with the tips are correct at time of publishing. Odds are often given several hours ahead of the event. If odds have changed, adjust your back/lay stake accordingly e.g. if I tip ‘Back at 1.5, Lay at 1.25’ – and back odds move to 1.55, adjust your lay odds to 1.3 – there are still 25 ticks between the back and lay odds.
Delay and Trade!! It’s OK to place your trades before the match starts, but in my opinion, waiting 2/3 games before placing your trades is the safest way to trade. This is advised in many of the articles below. To delay and trade will give you a good feel for the match. Delay and Trade is a MUST if you are Backing Heavy. Delaying is advised mostly for the women’s game, as early breaks of serve are more likely. Please read the relevant article below.
