All times are UK/Irish and are subject to change, and all times are in 24hr format e.g., 01.00 = 1am and 16:00 = 4pm:

1. 16:30 – Giraldo v Haase

Giraldo leads the head to head here by 2-0, but by recent form, Haase has only lost 1 of his previous 5 matches while Giraldo has 3 losses.

With his recent good show at Indian Wells, I definitely prefer Haase here.

—> Back Haase @1.66, lay @1.3

2. 16:45 – Thiem v Fel Lopez

Thiem was amazingly good against Schwartzman in his last match not only with his serves, but also with his range of shots throughout the match. I thought his game looked spot on for these slow courts so suggesting to lay Lopez here..

—> Lay Lopez @1.67, back @2.1

3. 21:00 – Gulbis v Monaco –> HOT TIP

Gulbis is out of form losing 4 of his previous 5 matches. Definitely inclining towards the Argentinian Monaco here ..

—> Back Monaco @1.82, lay @1.4

4. 22:30 – Fognini v Sock –> HOT TIP

Sock had a very decent Indian Wells tournament losing only to eventual finalist, Roger Federer. Fognini though, lost in the 1st round there and is currently on a 4 game losing streak. Go for the home favourite here..

—> Back Sock @1.44, lay @1.2

5. 15:00 – Bellis v Diyas –> HOT TIP

Though Diyas has lost 3 of her previous 5 matches, they were all to good players like Serena, Petkovic and Makarova. She’s the right player to back here..

—> Back Diyas @1.44, lay @1.2

6. 18:15 – Pironkova v Pennetta –> HOT TIP

Pennetta is really one tough player to beat on these courts with slower pace, just like in Indian Wells. Go for the favourite here!

—> Back Pennetta @1.41, lay @1.16

7. 19:45 – Dellacqua v Bencic –> HOT TIP

I don’t have much hope for Dellacqua in this tournament who has really been poor, and is on a 3 game losing streak. Bencic, on the other hand, performed very well at Indian Wells losing only to Jankovic in a tough 3 setter.

—> Back Bencic @1.46, lay @1.15

8. 19:45 – Watson v Kerber

I must say after a poor start, Watson came through a very tough opponent in Rodina in the previous match. Kerber has been poor recently, losing in the first round at Antwerp, Doha and Indian Wells. Go for the Brit!

—> Lay Kerber @1.7, back @2.5

Good luck!

Some Terms Explained:

Back: Normal Stakes – use 10% of bank.
Back Heavy(BH) – use up to 30% of bank. Used at members discretion. Delay and Trade.
Lay: Normal stakes – use 10% of bank.
Lay Heavy(LH) – use up to 30% of bank. Used at members discretion. Delay and Trade.
Likely 3 Setter – consider laying the winner of the first set.
Hot Tip – I have more confidence in these tips. However, use normal stake sizes.

Tips are deemed unsuccessful at 40% loss of stake.

All odds shown with the tips are correct at time of publishing. Odds are often given several hours ahead of the event. If odds have changed, adjust your back/lay stake accordingly e.g. if I tip ‘Back at 1.5, Lay at 1.25’ – and back odds move to 1.55, adjust your lay odds to 1.3 – there are still 25 ticks between the back and lay odds.

Delay and Trade!! It’s OK to place your trades before the match starts, but in my opinion, waiting 2/3 games before placing your trades is the safest way to trade. This is advised in many of the articles below. To delay and trade will give you a good feel for the match. Delay and Trade is a MUST if you are Backing Heavy. Delaying is advised mostly for the women’s game, as early breaks of serve are more likely.  Please read the relevant article below.
