All times are UK/Irish and are subject to change, and all times are in 24hr format e.g., 01.00 = 1am and 16:00 = 4pm:
PLEASE NOTE, IF THERE ARE LIQUIDITY ISSUES, ALWAYS KEEP THE STAKES LOW
1. 14:00 – Lisicki v Espinosa
Neither player has been good on clay recently, however, it’s fair to assume, Lisicki has generally played rather well this season. Considering this is her home tournament, I fancy the German doing well at the start..
—> Back Lisicki @1.4, lay @1.18
2. 16:30 – Petkovic v Putintseva
Petko’s recent form on Clay include a good display at Charleston where she lost to eventual winner Kerber. Also, she played brilliantly against Pennetta at Madrid beating the Italian in 2 sets.
Putintseva has hardly played against any top players so her recent good form is pretty insignificant coming into this match.
—> Back Petko @1.21, lay @1.09
3. 11:30 – Puig v Stosur
Puig has lost 4 of her previous 5 matches which include 2 first round defeats at Madrid and Rome. Stosur eventhough losing to Pavlyuchenkova at Rome, was rather impressive in Madrid beating Kerber and Kanepi and only losing to eventual finalist Kuznetsova in a tough 3 setter.
Feel the money should be on the Australian’s side here..
—> Back Stosur @1.43, lay @1.18
Some Terms Explained:
Back: Normal Stakes – use 10% of bank.
Back Heavy(BH) – use up to 30% of bank. Used at members discretion. Delay and Trade.
Lay: Normal stakes – use 10% of bank.
Lay Heavy(LH) – use up to 30% of bank. Used at members discretion. Delay and Trade.
Likely 3 Setter – consider laying the winner of the first set.
Hot Tip – I have more confidence in these tips. However, use normal stake sizes.
Tips are deemed unsuccessful at 40% loss of stake.
All odds shown with the tips are correct at time of publishing. Odds are often given several hours ahead of the event. If odds have changed, adjust your back/lay stake accordingly e.g. if I tip ‘Back at 1.5, Lay at 1.25’ – and back odds move to 1.55, adjust your lay odds to 1.3 – there are still 25 ticks between the back and lay odds.
Delay and Trade!! It’s OK to place your trades before the match starts, but in my opinion, waiting 2/3 games before placing your trades is the safest way to trade. This is advised in many of the articles below. To delay and trade will give you a good feel for the match. Delay and Trade is a MUST if you are Backing Heavy. Delaying is advised mostly for the women’s game, as early breaks of serve are more likely. Please read the relevant article below.
