PLEASE NOTE, IF THERE ARE LIQUIDITY ISSUES, ALWAYS KEEP THE STAKES LOW

MIAMI OPEN:

MEN:

1. 17:30 – Goffin v Janowicz —> HOT TIP

After a not so impressive start to this season, Goffin looks like he is finding some of his past form.
He blew away a very talented Coric in the last round while Jano just about sneaked past Bautista Agut. I feel Goffin is definitely the man to go for today and can win this in 2 sets if Jano doesn’t step up his serves.

—> Back Goffin @1.61, lay @1.24

2. 21:30 – Ferrer v Rosol —> HOT TIP

I just can’t see Ferrer losing to Rosol today. His form has been spot on, losing only 1 of his last 10 games.
Rosol will not only struggle with his serves, but on these slow courts, he’s going to have a very tough job all round!

—> Back Ferrer @1.11, lay @1.02

3. 00:30 – Dimitrov v Isner

Anytime John Isner plays in front of his home crowd, expect him to step up his game! This match may indeed be priced rightly, but I feel the strategy should be to lay Dimitrov simply due to the fact that he has never faced the big serving John before.

Expect a tough match for the Bulgarian Dimi!

—> Lay Dimi @1.7, back @2.2

WOMEN:

4. 16:00 – Radwanska v Suarez Navarro

The Pole Radwanska has got the better off Navarro every single time they have met. However, current form is very much favouring the Spaniard Navarro.

Considering that Navarro lost only to eventual winner Halep at Indian Wells, I am suggesting to lay Radwanska here..

—> Lay Radwa @1.68, back @2.2

5. 16:00 – Venus v Wozniacki

Venus didn’t look comfortable on these Miami courts in her earlier matches, possibly due to the slow pace.
Amazingly, Wozniacki has played Venus 7 times and hasen’t won a match against the American. I am with the bookies here and suggesting to back Venus.

Keep the stakes low or medium here..

—> Back Venus @1.88, lay @1.45

6. 17:30 – Serena v Kuznetsova

Unlike her previous opponents Niculescu and Bellis, Kuznetsova is a far more experienced player and a former Grand Slam winner. Serena hasn’t looked at her best when it comes to serving on these courts and therefore, there may be a slight hope for Kuznetsova.

I am taking a very calculated risk here and suggesting to lay Serena here as I believe Kuzzy is actually playing some solid tennis at the
moment.

—> Lay Serena @1.12, back @1.5

Please note, there is always a risk in laying Serena and this is just an exceptional case. Hence, please limit your stakes to low or medium!

7. 19:15 – Pliskova v Gavrilova

Gavrilova seems like nothing is bothering her at the moment and is swinging the racket at anything or everything out there! After a very solid performance where she knocked out Maria Sharapova, she continued her form against Kurumi Nara who had earlier knocked out Caroline Garcia in 2 sets.

Pliskova does crack under pressure and do have issues with serve consistency, so I am favouring the Russian Gavrilova here to outgun her.

—> Lay Pliskova @1.45, back @1.85

8. 22:15 – Stephens v Bencic

Form of both players is extremely good and this is a tough match to call if it goes to a decider. However, at the start, I feel favouring Bencic is the right strategy here as she’s a better returner.

—> Lay Stephens @1.75, back @2.3

9. 02:00 – Halep v Pennetta —> HOT TIP

Halep looks to continue her Indian Wells form and has been solid in her matches this week. While Pennetta has the serves, she doesn’t have the defensive skills or more importantly, the brute force that Halep possesses.

Prefer going for the favourite here..

—> Back Halep @1.35, lay @1.16

Good luck!

Some Terms Explained:

Back: Normal Stakes – use 10% of bank.
Back Heavy(BH) – use up to 30% of bank. Used at members discretion. Delay and Trade.
Lay: Normal stakes – use 10% of bank.
Lay Heavy(LH) – use up to 30% of bank. Used at members discretion. Delay and Trade.
Likely 3 Setter – consider laying the winner of the first set.
Hot Tip – I have more confidence in these tips. However, use normal stake sizes.

Tips are deemed unsuccessful at 40% loss of stake.

All odds shown with the tips are correct at time of publishing. Odds are often given several hours ahead of the event. If odds have changed, adjust your back/lay stake accordingly e.g. if I tip ‘Back at 1.5, Lay at 1.25’ – and back odds move to 1.55, adjust your lay odds to 1.3 – there are still 25 ticks between the back and lay odds.

Delay and Trade!! It’s OK to place your trades before the match starts, but in my opinion, waiting 2/3 games before placing your trades is the safest way to trade. This is advised in many of the articles below. To delay and trade will give you a good feel for the match. Delay and Trade is a MUST if you are Backing Heavy. Delaying is advised mostly for the women’s game, as early breaks of serve are more likely.  Please read the relevant article below.
