Betfair Tennis Trading Tips: ATP WTA Sunday 22nd February

tennis ballThese tips are published when all have been played – in order to get today’s tips, join by clicking here and I’ll mail them to you!!

All times are UK/Irish and are subject to change, and all times are in 24hr format e.g., 01.00 = 1am and 16:00 = 4pm:

1. 14:00 – Monfils v Simon

Both are deserved finalists in this tournament.

I’m going to favour Gael here as he has looked the more lethal at the beginning. Also worth pointing out that he thrashed Bautista Agut who is, by no means, an easy player to beat. Simon on the contrary had a rather tough match against Stakhovsky.

Overall, I’d back Monfils to do well at the start and Simon to fight back later on to make it a thrilling deciding 3rd set.

—> Back Monfils @1.6, lay @1.3

2. 18:00 – Schmiedlova v Errani —> HOT TIP

Unlike the odds suggest, I am fancying this to be a smooth enough match for Errani who is an amazing clay court specialist (not to forget, also a French open finalist!).

Schmiedlova has never faced the Italian before so expecting her to go through one of her toughest challenges in today’s clay court encounter!

—> Back Errani @1.66, lay @1.3

Good luck!

Some Terms Explained:

Back: Normal Stakes – use 10% of bank.
Back Heavy(BH) – use up to 30% of bank. Used at members discretion. Delay and Trade.
Lay: Normal stakes – use 10% of bank.
Lay Heavy(LH) – use up to 30% of bank. Used at members discretion. Delay and Trade.
Likely 3 Setter – consider laying the winner of the first set.
Hot Tip – I have more confidence in these tips. However, use normal stake sizes.

Tips are deemed unsuccessful at 40% loss of stake.

All odds shown with the tips are correct at time of publishing. Odds are often given several hours ahead of the event. If odds have changed, adjust your back/lay stake accordingly e.g. if I tip ‘Back at 1.5, Lay at 1.25’ – and back odds move to 1.55, adjust your lay odds to 1.3 – there are still 25 ticks between the back and lay odds.

Delay and Trade!! It’s OK to place your trades before the match starts, but in my opinion, waiting 2/3 games before placing your trades is the safest way to trade. This is advised in many of the articles below. To delay and trade will give you a good feel for the match. Delay and Trade is a MUST if you are Backing Heavy. Delaying is advised mostly for the women’s game, as early breaks of serve are more likely.  Please read the relevant article below.

Thanx for your tip yesterday re Monfils v Simon. You suggested to back Monfils, but Simon will win the match in 3 sets. I’ve done exactly that. I put £40 on Monfils at the beginning of the match. He broke Simon’s serve early in the match so I exited trade with profit. I put money on Simon (my £40 plus profit I made) at the end of third set when he was losing 4-5 and his odds were quite high. As Simon won the match I won about £180 with £40 stake. Thanx again. Silvana
