MUTUA MADRID OPEN:
MENS:
1. 15:45 – Andujar v Sock
Both players have been sublime recently on Clay.
While Sock won the Houston Open beating players like Agut, Giraldo, Anderson and Querrey (all in 2 sets!), Pablo Andujar only lost to Nishikori in the Barcelona Open Final.
I feel the odds are right here as this one could be hard to call. Having said that, consistency is a serious issue with Andujar so preferring to opt for the American Sock here who does possess the serves.
—> Lay Andujar @1.98, back @2.6
2. 18:00 – Gasquet v Karlovic
Big serving Karlovic has lost 4 of his last 5 games while Gasquet was incredibly good at Estoril. I’m definitely inclined to go for the favourite here..
—> Back Gasquet @1.38, lay @1.16
WOMENS:
3. 12:00 – Errani v Pavlyuchenkova
Interesting that these two have never played on Clay before!
While the obvious bet looks like Errani today, I feel Pavlyuchenkova may produce something here as she thrashed a rather tricky Peng Shuai with a scoreline of 6-1 6-2 in the first round.
With Errani’s serves always a concern, I am suggesting to lay her today but do keep the stakes low here..
—> Lay Errani @1.4, back @1.8
4. 15:30 – Ivanovic v Svitolina
Ana Ivanovic leads the head to head between these two 5-0! However the last match between these two was back in August 2014. Since then the Ukranian Svitolina has vastly improved and more notably her form has been pretty good winning the Morocco tournament only a few days ago.
Suggesting to lay Ivanovic today..
—> Lay Ivanovic @1.63, back @2.2
Good luck!
Some Terms Explained:
Back: Normal Stakes – use 10% of bank.
Back Heavy(BH) – use up to 30% of bank. Used at members discretion. Delay and Trade.
Lay: Normal stakes – use 10% of bank.
Lay Heavy(LH) – use up to 30% of bank. Used at members discretion. Delay and Trade.
Likely 3 Setter – consider laying the winner of the first set.
Hot Tip – I have more confidence in these tips. However, use normal stake sizes.
Tips are deemed unsuccessful at 40% loss of stake.
All odds shown with the tips are correct at time of publishing. Odds are often given several hours ahead of the event. If odds have changed, adjust your back/lay stake accordingly e.g. if I tip ‘Back at 1.5, Lay at 1.25’ – and back odds move to 1.55, adjust your lay odds to 1.3 – there are still 25 ticks between the back and lay odds.
Delay and Trade!! It’s OK to place your trades before the match starts, but in my opinion, waiting 2/3 games before placing your trades is the safest way to trade. This is advised in many of the articles below. To delay and trade will give you a good feel for the match. Delay and Trade is a MUST if you are Backing Heavy. Delaying is advised mostly for the women’s game, as early breaks of serve are more likely. Please read the relevant article below.
