Betfair Tennis Trading Tips: ATP/WTA Tuesday 6th January 2015

tennis ball

All times are UK/Irish and are subject to change, and all times are in 24hr format e.g., 01.00 = 1am and 16:00 = 4pm:

1. 4:00 – Zvonareva vs Buyukakcay

Zvonareva had a tough previous match against home favourite Peng in 3 sets. Buyu on the other hand beat a rather weak hard court player in Lara Vecino.

Looking at the stats between these two players, I think the market is rightly priced, so going for the Russian to start better!

—> Back Zvonareva @1.5, lay @1.25

2. 01:30 – Strycova vs Erakovic

Both players are meeting each other after coming through 3 setters. However, Erakovic definitely had the tougher opponent through Monica Puig. The main weapon of Erakovic is her serve and if she does gets them going, she has a good chance here.
Also, considering the fact that she’s the home favourite, Strycova will have a tough time tomorrow. Lay the Czech hence.

—> Lay Strycova @1.75, back @2.24

3. 9:30 – Cornet vs Dellacqua – FRANCE V AUSTRALIA –> HOT TIP

So far Cornet has been much more impressive than Casey Dellacqua in pretty much all aspects of the game. I feel she must be backed here.

—> Back Cornet @1.5, lay @1.22

4. 03:15 – Murray vs Janowicz – BRITAIN VS POLAND

Murray has looked very sharp since his disastrous ATP Finals in 2014. Overall, I just don’t see Andy losing tomorrow so there is value in these odds.

—> Back Murray @1.21, lay @1.05

Good luck!

Some Terms Explained:

Back: Normal Stakes – use 10% of bank.
Back Heavy(BH) – use up to 30% of bank. Used at members discretion. Delay and Trade.
Lay: Normal stakes – use 10% of bank.
Lay Heavy(LH) – use up to 30% of bank. Used at members discretion. Delay and Trade.
Likely 3 Setter – consider laying the winner of the first set.
Hot Tip – I have more confidence in these tips. However, use normal stake sizes.

Tips are deemed unsuccessful at 40% loss of stake.

All odds shown with the tips are correct at time of publishing. Odds are often given several hours ahead of the event. If odds have changed, adjust your back/lay stake accordingly e.g. if I tip ‘Back at 1.5, Lay at 1.25’ – and back odds move to 1.55, adjust your lay odds to 1.3 – there are still 25 ticks between the back and lay odds.

Delay and Trade!! It’s OK to place your trades before the match starts, but in my opinion, waiting 2/3 games before placing your trades is the safest way to trade. This is advised in many of the articles below. To delay and trade will give you a good feel for the match. Delay and Trade is a MUST if you are Backing Heavy. Delaying is advised mostly for the women’s game, as early breaks of serve are more likely.  Please read the relevant article below.
