Betfair Tennis Trading Tips: Australian Open Day 6

All times are UK/Irish and are subject to change, and all times are in 24hr format e.g., 01.00 = 1am and 16:00 = 4pm:

PLEASE NOTE, IF THERE ARE LIQUIDITY ISSUES, ALWAYS KEEP THE STAKES LOW

AUSTRALIAN OPEN DAY 6:

WOMEN:

1. 00:00 – Giorgi v V.Williams

Venus serves are a bit of a concern at the start and Giorgi’s performance against Smitkova is just too hard to ignore here. I think Venus odds are likely to jump at the start.

—> Lay Venus @1.44, back @1.7

2. 00:00 – Muguruza v Bacsinszky –> HOT TIP

Just feel Mugu is the better server here and considering her ruthless demolition of Hantuchova and Erakovic in 2 bagel sets, I just think Bacsinszky might fold easily .

—> Back Mugu @1.55, lay @1.2

3. 02:45 – Vandeweghe v Brengle

I didn’t expect Vandeweghe to go through her match against home favourite Stosur in the previous round.
Not only did she beat Samantha in straight sets, she didn’t give her a single break point opportunity and served 11 aces! . That’s a major performance against a former Hard Court Grand Slam winner so fancying this to go for her at the start.

—> Back Vandeweghe @1.61, lay @1.3

4. ————TRADE OF THE DAY —————

01:30 – Cibulkova v Cornet –> HOT TIP

Cibu brutally dismantled Pironkova in her last match and I feel more is to follow tomorrow. Cornet, the good defensive player she is, should simply be at her absolute best if she is to win tomorrow.

Go for the Slovak girl who is 3-0 on head to head terms against Cornet.

—> Back Cibu @1.5, lay @1.2

Good luck!

Some Terms Explained:

Back: Normal Stakes – use 10% of bank.
Back Heavy(BH) – use up to 30% of bank. Used at members discretion. Delay and Trade.
Lay: Normal stakes – use 10% of bank.
Lay Heavy(LH) – use up to 30% of bank. Used at members discretion. Delay and Trade.
Likely 3 Setter – consider laying the winner of the first set.
Hot Tip – I have more confidence in these tips. However, use normal stake sizes.

Tips are deemed unsuccessful at 40% loss of stake.

All odds shown with the tips are correct at time of publishing. Odds are often given several hours ahead of the event. If odds have changed, adjust your back/lay stake accordingly e.g. if I tip ‘Back at 1.5, Lay at 1.25’ – and back odds move to 1.55, adjust your lay odds to 1.3 – there are still 25 ticks between the back and lay odds.

Delay and Trade!! It’s OK to place your trades before the match starts, but in my opinion, waiting 2/3 games before placing your trades is the safest way to trade. This is advised in many of the articles below. To delay and trade will give you a good feel for the match. Delay and Trade is a MUST if you are Backing Heavy. Delaying is advised mostly for the women’s game, as early breaks of serve are more likely.  Please read the relevant article below.
