Betfair Tennis Trading Tips: Australian Open Day 7

All times are UK/Irish and are subject to change, and all times are in 24hr format e.g., 01.00 = 1am and 16:00 = 4pm:

PLEASE NOTE, IF THERE ARE LIQUIDITY ISSUES, ALWAYS KEEP THE STAKES LOW

AUSTRALIAN OPEN DAY 7:

WOMEN:

1. 01:15 – Peng v Sharapova

Peng’s form at the moment has been very impressive. I thought Shvedova was going to be a huge challenge for her but somehow she managed to win that match in straight sets after saving a lot of set points.
As a great defensive player, I’m going to suggest to lay Maria here..

—> Lay Sharapova @1.16, back @1.5

MEN:

2. 03:00 – Anderson v Nadal

Anderson really did play well against Gasquet in the last match. However, after really struggling against Smyczek, Rafa looked brilliant as well against Dudi Sela.

I feel Rafa is the right bet here eventhough the odds on him look a bit high..

—> Back Nadal @1.37, lay @1.14

3. 04:00 – Berdych v Tomic

I have been very impressed with Tomic throughout this tournament. Interestingly, out of the 3 head to head matches, Tomic has the lead in the only hard court match these two have played back in 2012. The other 2 went for Berdych on Grass.
With current form, I think this isn’t a bad strategy at all to lay the Czech against the home favourite.

—> Lay Berdych @1.35, back @1.6

4. 07:15 – Kyrgios v Seppi

Seppi knocking out Federer has still not made him favourite in this match. I quite agree with that as Kyrgios is really a tough cookie to crack. I suggest to back him here..

—> Back Kyrgios @1.84, lay @1.45

5. ————— TRADE OF THE DAY —————–

09:15 – Murray v Dimitrov –> BACK HEAVY

Andy has been the better player between these two at this year’s open so far. With already a 4-2 head to head lead, Andy would want to avenge his Wimbledon loss to the Bulgarian last year.

Current stats favour Murray hugely here who is yet to lose a set..

Definitely go for the Scot!

—> BH Murray @1.33, lay @1.1

Good luck!

Some Terms Explained:

Back: Normal Stakes – use 10% of bank.
Back Heavy(BH) – use up to 30% of bank. Used at members discretion. Delay and Trade.
Lay: Normal stakes – use 10% of bank.
Lay Heavy(LH) – use up to 30% of bank. Used at members discretion. Delay and Trade.
Likely 3 Setter – consider laying the winner of the first set.
Hot Tip – I have more confidence in these tips. However, use normal stake sizes.

Tips are deemed unsuccessful at 40% loss of stake.

All odds shown with the tips are correct at time of publishing. Odds are often given several hours ahead of the event. If odds have changed, adjust your back/lay stake accordingly e.g. if I tip ‘Back at 1.5, Lay at 1.25’ – and back odds move to 1.55, adjust your lay odds to 1.3 – there are still 25 ticks between the back and lay odds.

Delay and Trade!! It’s OK to place your trades before the match starts, but in my opinion, waiting 2/3 games before placing your trades is the safest way to trade. This is advised in many of the articles below. To delay and trade will give you a good feel for the match. Delay and Trade is a MUST if you are Backing Heavy. Delaying is advised mostly for the women’s game, as early breaks of serve are more likely.  Please read the relevant article below.

Some folks have asked why I call the tips ‘Betfair Tennis Trading Tips’ and have asked if the tips can be used on other betting exchanges. I use Betfair for all my trading because Betfair has the best liquidity. All of my prices are taken from Betfair.
