Betfair Tennis Trading Tips – Wimbledon Men’s Final 2013

Sunday’s Tips:

Welcome everyone to Day 13 of Wimbledon. The Finale!

All times are UK/Irish and are subject to change:

1. 14:00 – Djokovic v Murray

This match was almost inevitable once Roger and Rafa were out. Indeed
both had a bit of trouble in the semi’s but Djokovic has been much
more physical in his game and that for me, is the likely key to
winning today. I believe the Brits will have to wait yet another
year for a Wimbledon Champ (sorry UK)!

I am not going to give this as a BH match eventhough I feel rather
confident on Djokovic ending up as the winner. So all I would advice
is, if you are laying Djoko, do so when his price is lower than the
initial price. It is 1.66 at the moment. The main reason for not
giving this as a BH is that the first set is highly unpredictable.
Murray will desperately want to start well and indeed the eventual
difference could be the winner of the 1st set. Hence I find there are
risks involved in backing Djokovic heavy early on. If indeed you are
backing him, delay the trading and back somewhere in the 1.8 – 2
region!

Option 1:

My best suggestion is to delay trading (as always) for at least 4
games! You will have a better picture of who is feeling better on the
court by then. However, keep a very close eye on who returns better.
For live stats, go to the IBM Slam Tracker on the Wimbledon website
(something that I’ve mentioned before).

If Djokovic has won the first set easily, lay something on him! Keep
the stakes low here. If he goes a break up in the second, lay more!

Option 2:

If Murray has won the first set, DEFINITELY lay him! I do not see
Murray winning this match in 3 sets, simple as that!

Option 3:

As soon as the 3rd set is finished, whoever leads, is worth laying.
For me that is more likely to be Djokovic. It is definitely possible
he may win this in 4 sets. However, from experience it is worth laying
the leading player always in a tight match!

Starting strategy:

I expect Djokovic to win this match. However, I feel the starting
strategy should be inclined towards laying him rather than backing.

Lay Djokovic@1.66, back@1.85

I STRONGLY REMIND YOU TO DELAY TRADING HERE IF YOU ARE BACKING OR
LAYING BIG ON EITHER PLAYER!

2. 15:30 – Soares/Raymond v Nestor/Mladenovic

BACK HEAVY!!

Provided there is liquidity in this match I feel this should be backed
heavy in Nestor/Mladenovic’s favour!

Both looked extremely good and eventhough Raymond is a veteran in
doubles, I feel Mladenovic and her serves will be the key to winning
this match!

BH on Nestor/Mladenovic@1.7, lay@1.4

You can definitely delay this match for better odds!

That’s it for Wimbledon lads and lassies. I hope you have a great day
today. I shall publish the Overall stats for the 2 weeks soon!!

Good luck as always!
