PLAYER COMPARISON & ANALYSIS:
Before this tournament began,I must admit there was hardly any stats worth mentioning to support Hibino’s current great form. In all honesty, the Japanese girl has played her heart out in knocking out two very tricky players, Kozlova and Jovanovski, both in 2 sets.
While Vekic has more experience and does deserve a lot of credit for her comeback wins over Witthoeft and Friedsam,I agree with the bookies that Hibino should be the favourite today. Hibino is on constant attack mode, which makes her pretty tough to deal with.On the other hand, Vekic has consistency issues and her serves can falter quite often. If either player happens to win in 2 sets, my money would definitely be on Hibino today!
GENERAL UNFOLDING SCENARIO:
Hibino got a bit lucky not having to play Sasnovich in the 2nd round as she had a walkover. But it must be said that all her wins were in 2 sets. With Vekic already having tough enough matches to deal with, I can’t see why Hibi shouldn’t win this in 2. Therefore, my prediction for this match is Hibi starting well and going on to win in 2 sets.
As predicted, I feel Hibino is likely to win this affair comfortably today. Therefore I am hoping her to start quite well.
No stop losses are suggested for this trade and you have the option to consider decent sized stakes as my confidence level is quite high in Hibino’s favour.
My suggestion is to back 3% of your bank on Hibino at the beginning and lay her at a price close to 1.3. Delaying the trade to fetch better prices on Hibino is not recommended since there is a good possibility that she may run away with this match!
Once the target is hit, trade out the market, even though I feel a good start can shrink her odds close to 1.2 after the first set.
Your potential profit is around 40% of the stake.
Worst case scenario:
If I am wrong about Hibino’s start and Vekic goes with all guns blazing in the beginning, I suggest backing your remaining stake of 1% with an advance back price of 3.5 on Hibino.
Assuming Hibino loses the first set and comes back to win the 2nd, I suggest trading out entirely before the final set begins.
In my opinion,a 2 set win for the Croatian is quite unlikely here..
Remember, any profits of 20-25% is always good to green out!
POST MATCH ANALYSIS
A golden trade on Hibino today for Pinnacle #15 as she blew away Vekic in every department of the game. A very early break and she went on to win the first set 6-2. Our target was hit without any issues here as Hibino odds hardly jumped! In the 2nd set it was again one-way traffic for the Japanese girl. Such was the dominance that Hibino never got broken in this match.
Overall, this was smooth sailing from start to finish to give us our 3rd win from 3 in the last 2 days.
