These two have played each other just twice. On both occasions Jelena reigned supreme. No doubt the experience favours the Serbian who was a former World Number 1. Also, the season so far has been quite good for her.

 

However we talk about the current form, one very striking stat points to Wickmayer – she has won 9 of her previous 10 matches!

Both are very aggressive minded players but the more patient player is Jankovic for my money.

Therefore, this is unlikely to be a walk in the park for the Belgian.

 

 

The best prediction for me would be Jankovic running away with this match. As mentioned, while the aggression factor is a strong point for Wickmayer, her mental state is quite dodgy. In fact, she has been known to choke matches from big leads quite a few times.

 

Overall I’m expecting a straightforward win for the much more experienced player, Jankovic!

 

 

There is reason to consider decent sized stakes for this tip as Janko’s performance against Kuznetsova in the earlier round was pretty ruthless. If she plays that well, Wickmayer is bound to have a ton of trouble.

We had a bad result yesterday with our worst case scenario happening in the Errani match. After Zheng broke first everything was looked good but then Errani rattled of 12 games in a row which was just unbearable to watch.

However, I can’t see such a situation here but if indeed Wickmayer starts strong, back your remaining 1% stake at odds of 3.00.

 

If Janko loses the first set, there is always reason to expect a good fightback. On the contrary if she starts well and goes on to win the 1^st set, I feel it could be Game Set Match in the Serbian’s favour!
