If only Nadal had taken one of his very few chances, we might have had a contest! Djokovic played with mesmerising accuracy and confidence. It was possibly his best performance in a Grand Slam Final. It’s been called ‘perfection’ and ‘impossibly great’.

For me it was also because Rafa was unprepared for such an intense display. Rafa’s path to the final was untroubled. But looking back now, he could have used some sterner tests. Congratulations top Novak of course and now we await Roland Garros where Rafa will be hoping to avenge this defeat.
