The final match-up seemed a foregone conclusion when we learned the semi final contests and has proven to be so. After a masterful performance from Nadal yesterday, we witnessed a near perfect performance from Djokovic today. He had only 5 unforced errors in the match. He lost only 4 games and dispatched Pouille in 1 hour, 23 minutes.

The bookies are calling a close final one with Djokovic around 1.8 favourite to win it. These are the best 2 tennis players in the world right now. It is fitting that they meet here in the first final of the year. If memory serves me right, the last time they played here in the final was an epic 6 hour match in 2013. Djokovic won that one narrowly. It could go all the way again.
