The headline above may seem like a ridiculous claim!! Turning 100 into 1327 by betting or trading on tennis may seem ridiculous. In fact, you may ask yourself – ‘if it’s that easy why isn’t everybody doing it??’. The answer is that I don’t know why more people aren’t doing it!!
I’ve done all the maths below – please feel free to double check it!!
With a starting balance of just 100, and with a bit of patience (and an ounce of good luck), achieving just 5% growth per week using my Betting Tips or Trading Tips, you will have grown your money by over 1300% in just 52 weeks.
COST OF TENNIS BETTING TIPS
But lets be completely honest about it!! What you see below is ROC (Return on Capital). It doesn’t take any expenses into account. My betting tips service currently costs £129 for the year, so that has to be taken from the total. As do any fees that your chosen bookie inflicts on you. However, since my betting service started, I have recommended pinnaclesports.com to all my members for betting tips. They offer the best prices on a large volume of matches and they don’t charge commission. Your costs are reduced to:
1) time
2) paying for the tips.
In terms of time, how much time do you need to place the bets? Let’s say it takes 10 minutes each morning (it should take less) and I give tips 6 days a week over the 52 weeks. That’s one hour per week or 52 hours over the whole year.
Lets do some more maths:
1327 – 100 (your starting capital) – 129 (tips membership) = 1098
1098/52 (hours) = £21.12 per hour.
In my opinion, getting £21.12 per hour is a good return on my money!! It’s more than I ever earned working a 9-5 job!! And remember, these figures are calculated using a £100 starting bank. If you start with 200, 500 or 1000, the figures really begin to multiply…
COST OF TENNIS TRADING TIPS
As mentioned, the figures below are Return on Capital. My tennis trading tips currently cost £49 per annum, or £96 for the year if you pay monthly. Or £99 lifetime. Other costs are more difficult to estimate. I recommend using Betfair for tennis trading – there is very little competition out there for them. In terms of volumes of matches and liquidity in the markets, they cant be equalled. The problem with Betfair is that they know this and charge fees on your profits. The fees are not extortionate unless you are in the top 1% of earners on Betfair. The charges depend on your level of activity and the charges can be seen on this page http://www.betfair.com/aboutUs/Betfair.Charges/. For most, a 5% charge on profits is normal on Betfair.
I also recommend that you use a trading platform to help with your trading. It’s not 100% necessary but I recommend it. My chosen platform is Fairbot. There is a free trial version, but it will cost $99 (£60) after that. I think it’s a great price compared to Bet Angel which will cost £149 for one year – that’s an £89 difference!!
Let’s do some maths again!!
1327 – 100 (starting capital) = 1227
1227 -5% Betfair Charges = 1165.65
1165.65 – 49(Annual Tips Membership) – 60 (Fairbot) = 1056.65
The 5% charge shown above does not take into account any discounts offered by Betfair – the more you trade, the less you pay. You can get up to a 50% discount on charges. It should also be noted here that tennis trading is more time consuming than tennis betting. Matches need to be monitored and therefore it takes more of your time. In general, trading will bring in a bigger weekly return than betting, so you can expect more than 5% and that makes it worthwhile. As a most recent example, in the first 2 months of 2014, my trading bank was up 150% – thats 18.75% per week. You can see the stats on site…
A NOTE OF REALISM
Achieving 5% every week i.e. constantly being in profit week after week is almost impossible. Some weeks will be up 30% and you might be down 10% the following week. Overall, you will be up 20%, but you must be prepared for losses some days or weeks. Betting and Trading needs a calm mind and an ability to understand that losses sometimes occur.
STAKING PLAN
What you see below is a cumulative plan – your stakes are increased every week as your bank grows, and I recommend that you use 5% of your bank on each betting tip, or 10% of your bank on each trading tip. I also recommend that you have separate banks for trading and betting. This is easily done by using different sites for trading and betting. But what do you do if your first week is a losing week? What if you end the week with 95?? Should you decrease your stakes accordingly? Should you now use 5% of 95 for each bet? The simple answer is NO!! Keep using your original stake (5% of 100) for the next week also. You will get back into profit quicker this way.

SUMMARY
5% growth per week over a full year is very achievable, and with some discipline, anyone can do it. This is how I achieved success in my trading and betting in the beginning – I started small and built a good bank which enabled me to stop working 9-5 and take up trading and betting full time.
