Betfair Tennis Trading Tips: ATP/WTA Wednesday 7th January 2015

All times are UK/Irish and are subject to change, and all times are in 24hr format e.g., 01.00 = 1am and 16:00 = 4pm:

PLEASE NOTE, IF THERE ARE LIQUIDITY ISSUES, ALWAYS KEEP THE STAKES LOW

ATP BRISBANE:

1. 03:45 – Kubot v Groth

Kubot has actually played rather well so far in Brisbane. However Groth is one of the local favourites who is improving everytime he sets foot on the court. He is coming into this game thrashing Lleyton Hewitt 6-3 6-2 which is truly impressive.

I feel this market is rightly priced with the Australian as the favourite.

–> Back Groth @1.78, lay @1.4

WTA BRISBANE:

2. 01:00 – Kerber v Svitolina

Kerber’s weakness for me is primarily her serves. If she doesn’t serve well tomorrow, Svitolina is very likely to make her pay.
This Ukranian ‘phenom’ is one to watch out for this year.

Coming into this game, eventhough Kerber leads the head to head stats 2-1, Svitolina took their last encounter in 2 sets. I definitely feel Elina has a chance today to knock out the German!

—> LAY Kerber @1.5, back @2.2

3. 09:00 – Kanepi v Ivanovic

Ana Ivanovic’s form has been impressive lately. Funnily enough, these two have never faced each other which is more of a disadvantage for the underdog in my opinion.
If Ana gets her serves spot on, this one is likely to end in an easy finish in her favour.

Back Ivanovic @1.28, lay @1.09

HOPMAN CUP: USA VS CZECH REPUBLIC

4. 9:30 – Safarova v Serena Williams

Serena was absolutely rubbish against Bouchard. If she plays that bad, this could be another easy win for her opponent.

Lucie on the other hand is really an excellent hardcourter and has been consistently good at this year’s Hopman Cup. Without a decent male player in the Czech team, she has done really well for Czechs. Overall, I fancy a good fight from Safarova.

–> Lay Serena @1.36, back @1.8

Good luck!

Some Terms Explained:

Back: Normal Stakes – use 10% of bank.
Back Heavy(BH) – use up to 30% of bank. Used at members discretion. Delay and Trade.
Lay: Normal stakes – use 10% of bank.
Lay Heavy(LH) – use up to 30% of bank. Used at members discretion. Delay and Trade.
Likely 3 Setter – consider laying the winner of the first set.
Hot Tip – I have more confidence in these tips. However, use normal stake sizes.

Tips are deemed unsuccessful at 40% loss of stake.

All odds shown with the tips are correct at time of publishing. Odds are often given several hours ahead of the event. If odds have changed, adjust your back/lay stake accordingly e.g. if I tip ‘Back at 1.5, Lay at 1.25’ – and back odds move to 1.55, adjust your lay odds to 1.3 – there are still 25 ticks between the back and lay odds.

Delay and Trade!! It’s OK to place your trades before the match starts, but in my opinion, waiting 2/3 games before placing your trades is the safest way to trade. This is advised in many of the articles below. To delay and trade will give you a good feel for the match. Delay and Trade is a MUST if you are Backing Heavy. Delaying is advised mostly for the women’s game, as early breaks of serve are more likely.  Please read the relevant article below.

Some folks have asked why I call the tips ‘Betfair Tennis Trading Tips’ and have asked if the tips can be used on other betting exchanges. I use Betfair for all my trading because Betfair has the best liquidity. All of my prices are taken from Betfair.
