Betfair Tennis Trading Tips ATP WTA: Thursday 18th June

These Trading Tips are published when all have been played – in order to get Today’s Tips, join by clicking here and I’ll mail them to you!!

All times are UK/Irish and are subject to change, and all times are in 24hr format e.g., 01.00 = 1am and 16:00 = 4pm:

PLEASE NOTE, IF THERE ARE LIQUIDITY ISSUES, ALWAYS KEEP THE STAKES LOW

WTA BIRMINGHAM:

1. 11:00 – Navarro v Kuznetsova

Understandably, the head to head is tied between these two experienced players @ 2-2. However, this is going to be their first battle on Grass.
With Kuznetsova looking very consistent here in Birmingham, I am choosing to Lay Navarro today..

–> Lay Navarro @1.73, back @2.4

2. 14:00 – Jankovic v Kerber

A tough challenge for Jelena Jankovic in her previous match against Dellacqua, but she still emerged victorious in 2 sets. Meanwhile, Kerber had a 3 setter against Pironkova.

Overall, I’ve liked the way Janko has served throughout her Grass court matches in the past 2 weeks. If Kerber doesn’t serve well, Janko can run away with this one..

—> Lay Kerber @1.7, back @2.5

3. 14:00 – Strycova v Mladenovic —> HOT TIP

I just can’t see Mladenovic winning this match with her serves alone. Strycova is a much better allround player so suggesting to go for her here..

—> Back Strycova @1.92, lay @1.35

ATP QUEENS (AEGON):

4. 16:00 – Isner v F.Lopez

No doubt Lopez is the better player on Grass. Also worth noting that he was the runner-up here at Queens last year in a match he should have really won against Dimitrov. Go for Lopez who is the right favourite today!

—> Back Lopez @1.76, lay @1.3

5. 17:45 – Cilic v Troicki

Their most recent encounter was at Stuttgart where Cilic choked in the 3rd set after getting the break first. I feel this time he should be more thirsty to win this match.

—> Back Cilic @1.56, lay @1.2

ATP HALLE:

6. 14:30 – Robredo v Seppi —> HOT TIP

Even with his loss to M. Zverev at Stuttgart, I thought Seppi played some solid tennis against Becker and also in his previous match against crowd favourite Tommy Haas.

Robredo, on the contrary, could have lost to Berankis as his opponent was serving for the match at one point.

I’m suggesting to go for Seppi who is priced as the favourite..

—> Back Seppi @1.74, lay @1.4

Good luck!

Some Terms Explained:

Back: Normal Stakes – use 10% of bank.
Back Heavy(BH) – use up to 30% of bank. Used at members discretion. Delay and Trade.
Lay: Normal stakes – use 10% of bank.
Lay Heavy(LH) – use up to 30% of bank. Used at members discretion. Delay and Trade.
Likely 3 Setter – consider laying the winner of the first set.
Hot Tip – I have more confidence in these tips. However, use normal stake sizes.

Tips are deemed unsuccessful at 40% loss of stake.

All odds shown with the tips are correct at time of publishing. Odds are often given several hours ahead of the event. If odds have changed, adjust your back/lay stake accordingly e.g. if I tip ‘Back at 1.5, Lay at 1.25’ – and back odds move to 1.55, adjust your lay odds to 1.3 – there are still 25 ticks between the back and lay odds.

Delay and Trade!! It’s OK to place your trades before the match starts, but in my opinion, waiting 2/3 games before placing your trades is the safest way to trade. This is advised in many of the articles below. To delay and trade will give you a good feel for the match. Delay and Trade is a MUST if you are Backing Heavy. Delaying is advised mostly for the women’s game, as early breaks of serve are more likely.  Please read the relevant article below.
