PLEASE NOTE, IF THERE ARE LIQUIDITY ISSUES, ALWAYS KEEP THE STAKES LOW
ROME OPEN (CLAY):
MENS:
1. 12:45 – Simon v Thiem
There’s no doubt Thiem has improved his game recently. However, Simon is the right player to back here due to his very defensive style, especially on a surface like clay.
A possible 3 setter but I think it’s a safe bet to assume Simon coming out on top in the end.
—> Back Simon @1.58, lay @1.25
2. 13:00 – Fognini v Dimitrov
These two faced in Montreal as well as at Madrid recently. Not surprisingly, Dimitrov ended up winning both those matches.
Today however, I feel Fognini is likely to show up as a much more tougher prospect as this is his home tournament.
—> Lay Dimi @1.6, back @2
WOMENS:
3. 11:30 – McHale v Errani
McHale performed brilliant so far beating Erakovic, Davis and Strycova. However, none of them has the experience on clay as the Italian Errani.
Definitely fancying the favourite to start well today..
—> Back Errani @1.3, lay @1.08
4. 16:30 – Jankovic v Rybarikova –> BACK HEAVY
Janko has never lost to Rybarikova and beat a rather tough Giorgi in her last match. I think the odds are right here as I fancy the Serbian getting the job done easily today ..
—> BH Jankovic @1.21, lay @1.08
5. 20:00 – Knapp v Kvitova
Normally I wouldn’t suggest laying Kvitova, especially after she won a tournament beating Serena Williams on the way. However, Knapp has impressed me with her recent matches as she has looked very aggressive.
Considering this is her home tournament, there could be some potential to make money here. Also, since consistency is always Kvitova’s weak point, I am going to suggest laying the favourite…
Keep the stakes low for this trade!
—> Lay Kvitova @1.26, back @1.5
Good luck!
Some Terms Explained:
Back: Normal Stakes – use 10% of bank.
Back Heavy(BH) – use up to 30% of bank. Used at members discretion. Delay and Trade.
Lay: Normal stakes – use 10% of bank.
Lay Heavy(LH) – use up to 30% of bank. Used at members discretion. Delay and Trade.
Likely 3 Setter – consider laying the winner of the first set.
Hot Tip – I have more confidence in these tips. However, use normal stake sizes.
Tips are deemed unsuccessful at 40% loss of stake.
All odds shown with the tips are correct at time of publishing. Odds are often given several hours ahead of the event. If odds have changed, adjust your back/lay stake accordingly e.g. if I tip ‘Back at 1.5, Lay at 1.25’ – and back odds move to 1.55, adjust your lay odds to 1.3 – there are still 25 ticks between the back and lay odds.
Delay and Trade!! It’s OK to place your trades before the match starts, but in my opinion, waiting 2/3 games before placing your trades is the safest way to trade. This is advised in many of the articles below. To delay and trade will give you a good feel for the match. Delay and Trade is a MUST if you are Backing Heavy. Delaying is advised mostly for the women’s game, as early breaks of serve are more likely. Please read the relevant article below.
